Hutt comprises the whole of the County of Hutt; excepting that portion of the Horokiwi Riding which is north of a line running due east from a point on the coast-line about one mile south of Paikakariki, to the eastern boundary of the riding; and excepting also that portion of Karori Riding which is situate to the east of a line commencing on the sea-coast at the mouth of the Karori Stream and proceeding up that stream to the south-western boundary-line of Karori District, thence to and along the summit of the watershed over Makara Peak to the north-western boundary-line of Karori District, thence in a generally north-easterly direction along sectional boundaries to the Borough of Onslow at the Kaiwarra Stream, and thence along the western and northern boundaries of that borough to the waters of Port Nicholson; together with the Borough of Petone and the Islands of Mana and Somes. This electoral district includes within its boundaries the Town Districts of Lower Hutt, Johnsonville, and Kaiwarra.

City of Wellington comprises the whole of the area included within the boundaries of the City of Wellington; together with the Boroughs of Melrose and Onslow and the Seatoun Road District; and that portion of the Karori Riding, of the County of Hutt, which is situate east of a line starting from the sea-coast at the mouth of Karori Stream and proceeding up that stream to the south-western boundary-line of Karori District; thence to and along the summit of the watershed over Makara Peak to the north-western boundary-line of the Karori District; thence in a north-easterly direction by sectional boundaries to the Borough of Onslow at the Kaiwarra Stream.

MIDDLE ISLAND ELECTORAL DISTRICTS.

City of Nelson comprises the City of Nelson; together with the Stoke Riding, of the County of Waimea. This district includes the Town District of Richmond.

Waimea - Picton comprises the County of Sounds; the Borough of Picton; and the whole of the County of Waimea, excepting the Wangapeka Riding and that portion of the Motueka Riding west of the Motueka Road District, and excepting also the Stoke Riding, of the same county; together with the Pelorus Riding, of the County of Marlborough; and that portion of the Picton Riding, in the same county, situate west of the Blenheim–Picton Railway and north of Sections 97 and 117 and Forest Reserve. This district includes the Town District of Havelock.

Wairau comprises the whole of the County of Marlborough; excepting the Pelorus Riding, and that portion of the Picton Riding situate west of the Blenheim–Picton Railway and north of Sections 97 and 117 and Forest Reserve; together with the County of Kaikoura and the Borough of Blenheim.

Buller comprises the County of Collingwood; the Ridings of Karamea and Wareatea North of the County of Buller; and that portion of the Lyell Riding, of the same county, situate north of the Buller River; together with the Borough of Westport; the Wangapeka Riding, of the County of Waimea; and the whole of the Motueka Riding, of the same county, excepting the Motueka Road District.

Inangahua comprises the whole of the County of Inangahua; the Ridings of Waipuna, Red Jack’s, and Nelson Creek, of the County of Grey; that portion of the Brunner ton Riding, of the same county, situate north of the Grey River, and that portion of the Cobden Riding, of the County of Grey, situate north of the Seven-mile Creek; together with the Ridings of Charleston and Wareatea South, of the County of Buller; and that portion of the Lyell Riding, of the same county, south of the Buller River. This district includes also that portion of the Borough of Brunner north of the Grey River.

Grey comprises the Ridings of Hohonu, Paroa, Marsden, and Maori Creek, of the County of Grey; that portion of Brunner ton Riding situate south of the Grey River; and that portion of Cobden Riding, of the same county, situate south of Seven-mile Creek; together with the Boroughs of Kumara and Greymouth; and that portion of the Arahura Riding, of the County of Westland, situate north of the Greenstone Junction and Christchurch Roads between Kumara Borough and Waimea Creek. This district includes also that portion of the Borough of Brunner situate south of the Grey River.

Westland comprises the Boroughs of Ross and Hokitika; together with the whole of the County of Westland excepting that portion of the Arahura Riding north of the Greenstone Junction and Christchurch Roads between Kumara Borough and Waimea Creek.

Ashley comprises the Counties of Amuri and Cheviot; together with the Ridings of Waipara, Kowai, Mount Thomas, and Oxford, all of the County of Ashley. This district includes the Amberley Town District.

Kaiapoi comprises the Ridings of Mandeville, Cust, and West Eyreton, of the County of Ashley; and the north-east portion of Eyreton Riding, of the same county, situate on Kaiapoi Island north of Cherry Road, and east of Kaikainui Creek and of the road passing Sections 738 and 560; together with the Boroughs of Kaiapoi and Rangiora.

Avon comprises the Avon Road District, of the County of Selwyn; that part of the Riccarton Road District, of the same county, which is north of the Wairarapa Road; together with that part of the Borough of St. Albans which is north-west of Innes Road and Aikman’s Road; and the whole of the Eyreton Riding, of the County of Ashley, excepting that portion of Kaiapoi Island south of Cherry Road, near Clarkville Post-office, east of the Kaikainui Creek and of the road passing Sections 738 and 560. This district includes also that part of the Heathcote Riding, of the County of Selwyn, which is situate north-east of the Canal and Road Reserve.

City of Christchurch comprises the City of Christchurch; and the Boroughs of Sydenham and St. Albans, excepting that portion of the latter borough which is north-west of Innes Road and Aikman’s Road.

Heathcote comprises the Town Districts of Linwood, Woolston, and Sumner; and that portion of the Heathcote Road District, of the County of Selwyn, which is situate to the south-west of the Canal and Road Reserve.

Halswell comprises the Road Districts of Halswell, Lincoln, Tai Tapu, and Spreydon, all of the County of Selwyn; together with that portion of the Templeton Road District, of the same county, situate east of Hampton’s Road and north of the railway-line; and that portion of the Riccarton Road District situate south of the Wairarapa Road.

Banks comprises the County of Akaroa; together with the Boroughs of Lyttelton and Akaroa.

Selwyn comprises the Ridings of Upper Waimakariri, Malvern, and Courtenay, of the County of Selwyn; and that portion of Coleridge Riding, of the same county, which is situate west of Rakaia Road, north of Sharland’s Road, and west of Two-chain Road; together with the Springs Road District, of the same county; and that portion of the Templeton Road District, of Selwyn County, which is west of Hampton’s Road.

Ellesmere comprises the Mount Hutt and South Rakaia Ridings, of the County of Ashburton, with that portion of the Upper Ashburton Riding, in the same county, east of Winchmore Road and north of the road running through the Kaiapoi Borough Endowment; and that portion of the Wakanui Riding, of the County of Ashburton, which is east of a road running south from Dromore, and passing Newland and Seafield Post Offices, to the sea; together with that portion of the County of Selwyn contained within the Ellesmere Riding; and also that portion of the Coleridge Riding south-east of Rakaia Road and Sharland’s Road and Two-chain Road. This district includes the Southbridge Town District.

Ashburton comprises the Ridings of Mount Somers, Rangitata, and Ashburton, of the County of Ashburton; and that portion of the Upper Ashburton Riding, in the same county, which is west of Winchmore Road and south of the road running through the Kaiapoi Borough Endowment to Section 6,502; together with that portion of the Riding of Wakanui which is west of the road running south from the Town of Dromore, past the Newland and Seafield Post Offices, to the sea; and that portion of the Temuka Riding, of the County of Geraldine, between the Rangitata and Orari Rivers. This district includes also the Borough of Ashburton and the Town Districts of Tinwald and Hampstead.

Geraldine comprises the whole of the County of Geraldine; excepting that portion of the Levels Riding situate south of the Opihi River, east of Stonyer’s Road, south of the road running westerly from Section 14449 to the northern boundary of Section 13782, and south of the road running westerly from that section past Sections 15095 and 15879 to Tycho Road, and south of the northern boundary of the present Waimate Electoral District from Tycho Road to near Cave Railway-station; and excepting also that portion of Temuka Riding which is situate between the Rangitata and the Orari Rivers and south of the railway-line. This district includes the Town Districts of Arowhenua, Temuka, and Geraldine.

Timaru comprises that portion of the Levels Riding, of the County of Geraldine, which is bounded as follows: On the north and north-west by the Opihi River and by Stonyer’s Road to the railway-line, thence by the railway-line to the road forming the eastern boundary of Section 14449, thence by that road in a westerly direction to the road at the northern boundary of Section 13782, thence by the last-mentioned road and its continuation past Sections
