ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing by admeasurement 8 acres, more or less,
being part of Reserve No. 102, situate in the Suburbs of
Timaru. Bounded towards the north by the other portion
of said Reserve No. 102; towards the east by a road along
the beach; towards the south by Abattoir Reserve; and
towards the west by Suburban Section No. 1702.

Reserves Sale Act, 1888," I, William Francis Drummond
Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby declare and direct that the land enumerated in the
Schedule hereto shall cease to be reserved, and that the same
shall be sold and disposed of under the provisions of section
ninety-six of "The Land Act, 1885."

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fifth day
day of February, 1889.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Wellington Harbour Board, being a
leasing authority within the meaning of "The
Public Bodies' Powers Act, 1887" (hereinafter termed "the
said Act"), has requested that these presents should issue,
and it appears expedient to make the order hereinafter con-
tained:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth
hereby order and declare that the Wellington Harbour
Board shall, as from the date of the publication hereof in
the New Zealand Gazette, be subject to the provisions of
sections nine and eleven of the said Act.

Land temporarily reserved in the Land Districts of Auck-
land, Wellington, and Canterbury.

WHEREAS by the two hundred and twenty-seventh
section of "The Land Act, 1885," it is enacted that
the Governor may from time to time, either by general or
particular description, and whether the same has been sur-
veyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding
that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any
Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of
the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the
said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land
in the Land Districts of Auckland, Wellington, and Canter-
bury, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the
purposes in the said Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND.

ALL that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, con-
taining by admeasurement 6 acres 1 rood 8 perches, more or
less, situate in the Maketu Survey District, and being
Section No. 38 of Block II. of the said survey district.
Bounded towards the north and towards the east by Section
No. 39 of Block II. aforesaid, 497 and 1047 links respectively;
towards the south-west and towards the north-west by roads,
215, 858, and 488 links respectively: be all the aforesaid
measurements a little more or less. As a school-site.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District,
being Section No. 15, Parish of Totara, containing by ad-
measurement 4 acres 1 rood 5 perches, more or less. Bounded
towards the north-east by Section No. 8, Parish of Totara
aforesaid, the crossing of a road 100 links wide, by Sec-
tion No. 8 aforesaid 740 links, and by a public road 370
and 182 links; towards the south-west by a public road,
1183 links; towards the west generally by a road reserve
100 and 200 links, and by Section No. 6, Parish of Totara
aforesaid, 180 links; and towards the north-west by Section
No. 8 aforesaid, 523 links, to the point of commencement:
be all the aforesaid measurements more or less; save and
except a public road which intersects the area hereinbefore
described. For recreation.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District,
being Section No. 86A of the Parish of Waipa, and contain-
ing by admeasurement 126 acres 2 roods 29 perches, more or
less. Bounded towards the north generally by Section No.
86 of the Parish of Waipa 560 links, by the crossing of a
public road 100 links wide, by the said road 535, 417, 275,
437, 820, 80, 155, 200, and 120 links, and again by Section
No. 86 aforesaid 2970 links; towards the east by a line,
2000 links; towards the south by a line 5756 links, by the
crossing of a road 100 links wide, and by a line 122 links;
and towards the west by a line 176 links, by the crossing of
a road 100 links wide, by a line 45 links, by the crossing of a
road 100 links wide, and by a line 2267 links to the point of
commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less;
save and except a road, 100 links wide, which intersects the
area hereinbefore described. For an addition to the Recrea-
tion and Thermal-springs Reserve.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District,
containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 25 perches, more
or less, being Allotment No. 14, Section No. 2, of the Town of
Opotiki. Bounded towards the north by Main Street, 75
links; towards the north-east by a road reservation along the
Otara River, 643.3 links; towards the south by Allotments

Colonies of Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia,
and Queensland declared infected.-Notice No. 269.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fifth day of
February, 1889.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by clause 19A of the Regulations made by
Order in Council issued on the twenty-fifth day of
September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight,
under the provisions of "The Diseased Cattle Act, 1881"
(hereinafter termed "the said Act"), and published as a
Supplement to the New Zealand Gazette of the twentieth
day of September then instant, it is provided that if, in any
country, colony, or place from which the importation of
stock to New Zealand is allowed under the regulations
aforesaid, it shall be officially reported to the Government of
New Zealand that disease exists among stock in any such
country, colony, or place, then the regulations prescribed by
the aforesaid Order in Couucil as to quarantine and other-
wise dealing with "foreign stock" shall apply so soon as
an Order in Council shall have been issued declaring such
country, colony, or place "infected" within the meaning of
the said Act: And whereas it has been officially reported
that pleuro-pneumonia and tuberculosis exists amongst
cattle in the Colonies of Victoria, New South Wales, and
South Australia, and pleuro-pneumonia amongst cattle in
the Colony of Queensland; and it appears expedient to
make the order hereinafter set forth:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act,
and of all other powers enabling him in this behalf, and
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council thereof, doth hereby declare the Colonies of Victoria,
New South Wales, South Australia, and Queensland to be
"infected" within the meaning of "The Diseased Cattle
Act, 1881:" Provided, however, that sheep, horses, or goats
may be allowed to be landed in New Zealand, subject to
Part III. of the regulations made by the aforesaid Order
in Council in relation to Australasian stock.
