All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, being the west portion of Section No. 17 and part of the east portion of Section No. 17, Parish of Parahaki, containing by admeasurement 25 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north generally by a public road 100 links wide 152, 153, 236, 309, 253, 148, and 310 links, and by other portion of the east portion of Section No. 17 aforesaid 417 and 1190 links ; towards the east by a public road 100 links wide, 1170 links ; towards the south by a public road 100 links wide, 705, 404, 647, 287, and 1900 links ; and towards the west by a reserve 100 links wide along the Hatea Stream to the point of commencement : be all the aforesaid measurements more or less. For recreation.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, being part of the east portion of Section No. 17, Parish of Parahaki, and containing by admeasurement 4 acres 1 rood 8 perches, more or less. Bounded generally towards the north by a public road 100 links wide, 25, 212, 303, 88, 180, 176, 306, and 137 links ; towards the east by a public road, 100 links wide, 588 links ; towards the south by other portion of the east portion of Section No. 17 aforesaid, 1190 links ; towards the west by the west portion of Section No. 17 aforesaid, 417 links, to the point of commencement : be all the aforesaid measurements more or less. For a quarry.

WELLINGTON.

All that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 14 acres 1 rood 20 perches, more or less, being Sections Nos. 155, 156, and 157, Block X., Mangaone Survey District. Bounded on the north by Section No. 7 and two public roads ; on the south-east by land required for the Masterton-Woodville Railway ; on the south-west by a Native reserve ; and on the north-west by a public road : as the same is delineated on the plan marked 2087-41, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. For recreation.

CANTERBURY.

All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 10 perches, more or less, being Section No. 2832 (in red), and situate in Block XII., Leeston Survey District. Bounded towards the south-west by Section No. 13956 ; towards the north-west by a road-line ; towards the north-east by Reserves Nos. 302 and 311 ; and towards the south-east by the Tramway Reserve : as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Survey Office, Christchurch. For drainage purposes.

All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 16 acres, more or less, being Section No. 2835 (in red), situate in Block XV., Waitaki Survey District, being a flat at the mouth of the River Waitaki south of Sections Nos. 4021 and 24913 : as the same is delineated on the map deposited in the District Survey Office, Christchurch. For river-conservation purposes.

All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 roods, more or less, being Section No. 2836 (in red), situate in Block XV., Waitaki Survey District, and being a flat in the Waitaki River-bed lying between Section No. 24913 and Reserve No. 2835 (in red) : as the same is delineated on the map deposited in the District Survey Office, Christchurch. For river-conservation purposes.

All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 12 acres, more or less, being Section No. 2837 (in red), situate in Block II., Otaio Survey District. Bounded northerly by that part of the Timaru Water-race Reserve passing south of Sections Nos. 35623 and 28536 ; and on the south by the old channel of the River Pareora, the easternmost corner touches the westernmost corner of Section No. 35751 : as the same is delineated on the maps deposited in the District Survey Office, Christchurch. For river-conservation purposes.

All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 30 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Section No. 2838 (in red), situate in Block III., Otaio Survey District, and being a flat in the bed of the River Pareora opposite Sections Nos. 16575 and 23544, and part of the Timaru Water-race Reserve passing south of Sections Nos. 30405, 8864, and 35624 : as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Survey Office, Christchurch. For river-conservation purposes.

All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 4 acres, more or less, being Section No. 2839 (in red), situate in Block VII., Tengawai Survey District. Bounded towards the south-west by the Mackenzie County Road 313·5 links, also by the Railway Reserve 128 links ; towards the north-west by Reserve No. 2807, 887·1 links ; towards the north-east by Hamilton Street, 437·1 links ; and towards the south-east by Lot No. 4, subdivision of Reserve No. 1840, 920 links, being Lot No. 3, sub-

division of Reserve No. 1840 : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less ; as the same is delineated on the map deposited in the District Survey Office, Christchurch. For Stock Inspector’s paddock.

Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of a Reserve at Matamau, Hawke’s Bay.

WHEREAS by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may declare his intention to make, change, exchange, or alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter vested in Her Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes named in Class II. of the Schedule to the said Act, whether the same be granted or not ; and, in the case of any reserves made under the authority of section two hundred and twenty-seven of “The Land Act, 1885,” if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose of such reserves or any part thereof from the purpose or presumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in such reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one or more purposes named in the said Class II., the Governor may, by notice in the Gazette, declare his intention to make such change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and in such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same is intended to be so made :

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” aforesaid, declare my intention to change the specific purpose of the reserve described in the first column of the Schedule hereto to the specific purpose set opposite such description in the second column of the said Schedule.


SCHEDULE.

Description and Purpose of Reserve. Intended Purpose.
All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 1 rood 12 perches, being Section No. 34, Village of Matamau, Block X., Norsewood Survey District. Reserved for a resting-place for travelling-stock. Site for a cemetery.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this thirtieth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the third section of “The Land Act Amendment Act, 1887” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection, after the lapse of a period of forty-five days from the date of the first public notification hereof, in the manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price per acre respectively set opposite such land in the said Schedule.
