boundary-line of Section No. 175 aforesaid to the Tiraumea
River; thence by the left bank of that river and the left

section and Section No. 175 to the northernmost corner of
Section No. 151 (Education Reserve); thence by a right line

District aforesaid; thence by Sections Nos. 268, 267, 266,
262, 259, and 241, Rewa Survey District, to the Mangapokia
River; thence by the right bank of that river and the right
bank of the Whareama River to the ocean; thence towards
the south-east by the ocean to the Kaiwhata River; thence
towards the south-west generally by the right bank of the
said Kaiwhata River to a point bearing north 85Β° west to the
southernmost corner of Section No. 130, Wainuioru Survey
District; thence by a right line to that corner; thence by
the left bank of the Kuamahanga Stream to the Wainuioru
River; thence by the right bank of that river to Section No.
79, Wainuioru Survey District; thence by the said Section
No. 79, and Section No. 76, Block XIV., Section No. 75,
Block XV., Sections Nos. 63, 51, and 50, Block XIV., and
Section No. 48, Block X., all of the Otahoua Survey Dis-
trict, and by. Te Kahu Native Block to a point due south
magnetic from the southernmost corner of Section No. 102
of the said Otahoua Survey District; thence by a right line
to that corner; thence by the southern boundary-line of the
said Section No. 102 and the southern boundary-lines of
Sections Nos. 103, 104, 105, and 95 to the Taueru River;
thence by the left bank of that river to the Ruamahanga
River; thence by the right bank of the said Ruamahanga
River and the right bank of the Waingawa River to the
source of the last-mentioned river; thence by a line due
west to the summit of the Tararua Range; and thence
towards the north-west by the summit of that range to
Arawaru Mountain.

And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come
into operation on the sixteenth day of September, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in the Governor by "The Registration of Births
and Deaths Act, 1875," I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
abolish the existing registration districts known as the Castle-
point and Masterton Districts; and do proclaim and declare
that the territory heretofore comprised within the said dis-
tricts is hereby divided anew into three registration districts,
the names whereof shall be the Pahiatua, Castlepoint, and
Masterton Districts, and the boundaries whereof shall be
coterminous with the boundaries of the marriage districts
bearing the same names as are set forth in a Proclamation
of even date herewith, made under the provisions of "The
Marriage Act, 1880."

And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come
into operation on the sixteenth day of September, in the

Lands withdrawn from State Forests.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the lands specified in the first column of
the Schedule hereto are State forests and forest
reserves respectively, under the control of the Commissioner
of State Forests appointed under "The New Zealand State
Forests Act, 1885" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"),
and the said lands are now no longer required for State-
forest purposes: And whereas plans showing the extent and
position of the said lands, and a statement of the reasons
why they are no longer required for State-forest purposes,
have been laid before both Houses of Parliament for a
period of thirty days, and no resolution has been passed by
either of such Houses objecting to the issue of this Proclama-
tion:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Right Honourable
William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers con-
ferred by "The New Zealand State Forests Act Amendment
Act, 1888," and of all other powers in anywise enabling him
in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and con-
sent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth
hereby revoke the several Proclamations and instruments,
specified in the second column of the Schedule hereto, as
from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand
Gazette; and doth hereby proclaim and declare that from
and after such date the several parcels of land described in
the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be no longer
subject to the provisions of the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

FIRST COLUMN. SECOND COLUMN.

AUCKLAND.

All that parcel of land in the Land
District of Auckland, being situated in
Blocks VII. and VIII., Mangakahia Sur-
vey District, and containing by ad-
measurement 1,000 acres, more or less.
Bounded towards the north north by the Turi-
pukunui Block, numbered 367 (in red);
towards the east by a Native track
traversing the Waitomotomo Block;
towards the south by the Rotokanae
Block, numbered 4609 (in red); and
towards the west by the Hikurangi
River.

Also all that parcel of land in the Land
District of Auckland, being situated in
Blocks XI. and XII., Mangakahia Sur-
vey District, and containing by ad-
measurement 510 acres, more or less.
Bounded towards the north by Blocks
VII. and VIII., Mangakahia District
aforesaid; towards the south-east by a
line, being the boundary of a State-forest
reserve, as described in Gazette, 1887,
page 839; and towards the south and
west by the Mangakahia River, the
Aponga Stream, and the Rotokanae
Block, numbered 4609 (in red).

Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of
Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley,
of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Baron
Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and
of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron
Cranley, of Imbercourt; Baronet; Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint
Michael and Saint George; Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government
House, at Wellington, this thirtieth day of
August, in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-nine.
