THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim that the road described in the Schedule hereto has been duly taken and laid off through the land specified, under warrant of the date given in the said Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that regular piece of land, 1 chain wide, the centre of which commences at a point marked A, on the southern boundary-line of the Matapihi Block, Block XIII., Kopu-aranga Survey District, distant 2175 links on a bearing of east 28° 51' south from Matapihi No. 2 Trig. Station; and proceeds thence in a northerly and north-westerly direction over the Matapihi Block to a point marked B on the Kopu-aranga River, distant north 6163 links and west 2666 links from the starting-point: as the same piece of land is more particularly delineated on the plan marked Survey Office 1339-16, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington.
Date of Governor’s warrant, 7th May, 1888.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley, of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Baron Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron Cranley, of Imbercourt; Baronet; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and its amendments, for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a road in Bruce County:
And whereas the Bruce County Council has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, required by the said Act and the amendments thereof:
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes of the construction of the said road.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in the Governor by “The Marriage Act, 1880,” I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing marriage districts known as the Castlepoint and Masterton Districts, and do proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said districts is hereby divided anew into three marriage districts, the names and boundaries whereof shall be as follow:—
PAHIATUA DISTRICT.
All that area known as the County of Pahiatua, bounded towards the north-west by the summit of the Tararua Range, from Arawaru Mountain to the Manawatu River; thence towards the north-east generally by that river and the boundary-line between the Provincial Districts of Hawke’s Bay and Wellington to the summit of the Puketoi Range; thence towards the south-east generally by the summit of that range to Puketoi Trigonometrical Station; thence by a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 61, Block VIII., Mangaone Survey District; thence by that section and Section No. 175 of the said block, and the northern boundary-line of the latter section produced to the Pa Valley Road; thence towards the south-west generally by that road and Section No. 12, Block IV., Mangaone Survey District aforesaid, to the Mangaone River; thence by that river to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 31A, Block IV. aforesaid; thence by a right line to the north-eastern corner of the said Section No. 31A; and thence by that section and Sections Nos. 31, 29, 9, 8, 7, and 6, Block III., Sections Nos. 25 and 20A, Block II., Mangaone Survey District, and Section No. 20, Block XIV., Mangahao Survey District, to the Makakahi River; and thence by a right line to Arawaru Mountain.
CASTLEPOINT DISTRICT.
All that area in the County of Wairarapa North bounded towards the north-east generally by the boundary-line between the Provincial Districts of Hawke’s Bay and Wellington, from the summit of the Puketoi Range to the place where the said line is last crossed by the Akitio River; thence by the left bank of the said Akitio River to the ocean; thence towards the south-east by the ocean to the Whareama River; thence towards the south-west generally by the right bank of that river, and the right bank of the Mangapokia River, and Sections Nos. 240, 260, 261, 739, 620, 619, 618, 617, 522, 521, 520, and 525, Rewa Survey District; thence towards the north-west generally by Sections Nos. 866, 863, part 2 of 863, part 1 of 863, 873, 872, 293, 292, 789, 788, 787, 150, 151, 152, 147, 146, 145, and 157, all of Mangapakeha Survey District, to the Taueru River; thence by a right line to the south-eastern corner of Section No. 128, Puketoi Survey District; thence by that section and Section No. 127 to Waitawhiti Stream; thence again towards the south-west generally by the left bank of that stream, and the left bank of the Tiraumea River, and the northern boundary-line of Section No. 61, Block VIII., Mangaone Survey District, to the north-eastern corner of that section; thence towards the north-west by a right line to Puketoi Trigonometrical Station; and thence by the summit of the Puketoi Range to the boundary-line between the Provincial Districts of Hawke’s Bay and Wellington.
MASTERTON DISTRICT.
All that area in the County of Wairarapa North bounded towards the north-east generally by a right line from Arawaru Mountain to the westernmost corner of Section No. 1, Block XIV., Mangahao Survey District; thence by that section and Sections Nos. 1A, 5, 4, 3, 4A, 33, 27, and 30, Block III., Mangaone Survey District, and 30A, Block IV., and the south-western boundary-line of the last-mentioned section produced to the Mangaone River; thence by the left bank of that river to a point in line with the southern boundary-line
