Additional Land taken near Rangatira Station for the
Purposes of the North Island Main Trunk Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable, for the use,
convenience, and enjoyment of the North Island
Main Trunk Railway, to take further land near Rangatira
Station, in addition to land previously acquired for the pur-
poses of the said railway:

Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the
powers and authorities conferred on me by "The Public
Works Act, 1882," and of every other power and authority in
anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and
declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is
taken for the purposes above mentioned.

for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of
Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

tion, on the Eyreton Branch of the Hurunui-Waitaki
Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is required to be taken, under "The Public Works
Act, 1882," and its amendments, for a certain work, to wit,
the construction of a road-deviation near Wetheral Station,
on the Eyreton Branch of the Hurunui-Waitaki Railway:

And whereas the Minister for Public Works has laid before
the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, as
required by the said Act and the amendments thereof:

Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by
"The Public Works Act, 1882," and of every other power
and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date
of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the
land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for
the purposes of the construction of the said road.

Defining the Middle Line of Further Portion of the Otago
Central Railway: Middlemarch Section.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the Otago Central Railway is one of the
railways specified in the First Schedule to "The
Public Works Act, 1879," and which Act is, in the seventh
section thereof, declared to be a special Act authorising
the construction of such railway; and such railway is un-
finished, and it has been determined to construct and
maintain a further portion of the same, namely, the Middle-
march Section:

Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by
the aforesaid section seven of "The Public Works Act,
1879," and by sections one hundred and twenty-nine and
one hundred and thirty of "The Public Works Act, 1882,"
and in exercise of every other power and authority in any-
wise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and
declare that the middle line of the said further portion of
the said railway shall be as defined and set forth in the
Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point in Section No. 2, Block I., Nenthorne
Survey District, the said point being the termination of a
portion of a railway, as described in a Proclamation dated
the 17th May, 1884, and published in the New Zealand
Gazette No. 67, of the 5th June, 1884; proceeding thence
in a generally northerly direction for a distance of 7 miles
6 chains 35 links or thereabouts, and passing in, into,
through, or over the following lands: Sutton Survey District
-Block III., Sections Nos. 2, 24, and Railway Reserve;
Block XIII., Section No. 15, and Railway Reserve; Block
IV., Township Reserve, Sections Nos. 22, 12, 42, and 41;
Strath-Taieri Survey District-Block IX., Sections Nos. 26,
27, 28, 42, 41, 40, 39, and 71; and terminating at a point on
the northern boundary of said Section No. 71 distant about
1662 links in an easterly direction from the north-west
corner of Section No. 71, Block IX., aforesaid: all within
the Provincial District of Otago and Colony of New Zealand;
including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves,
roads, streams, rivers, and watercourses; in the manner
delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 16306, a copy of
which is deposited in the office of the Registrar of the
Supreme Court at Dunedin, in the Provincial District of
Otago.
