Letters of Naturalisation, under "The Aliens Act,
1880," in favour of the under-mentioned persons:--

NOTICE is hereby given that MACKY, LOGAN, STEEN, AND
COMPANY, of Darby and Elliott Streets, Auckland,
New Zealand, Importers and Warehousemen, have applied,
on behalf of GEORGE ALEXANDER COLES, of Auckland afore-
said, Boot Manufacturer, to register, under "The Trade
Marks Act, 1866," the trade mark of which the following
is a description :--

Description of Trade Mark.

A label or ticket upon which is the representation of a
Maori, with the word "Kapai" printed across his body.

Nature of the Articles to which it is intended such Trade
Mark shall apply.

Boots and such goods as are made by boot-manufacturers.

Trade Marks Act, 1866," the trade mark of which the fol-
lowing is a description:-

NOTICE is hereby given that W. GREGG AND COMPANY,
of Dunedin, in the Colony of New Zealand, Coffee,
Spice, and General Merchants, have applied to register,
under "The Trade Marks Act, 1866," the trade mark of
which the following is a description :--

Description of Trade Mark.

A label 10in. wide by 5ĝin. deep, lithographed in four
colours, the design consisting of four panels-the first 5ĝin.
by 2ĝin., one inch at top and bottom of which has a blue
ground with the following words on the upper half: "W.
Gregg & Co., Coffee, Spice, & General Merchants," the
words "W. Gregg & Co." being open white letters on a
black band with rounded ends, and the following words on
the lower half: "Offices & Warehouse, Princes Street,"
"Factory, Rattray Street, Dunedin," the word "Dunedin "
being open white letters on a black band with rounded ends;
the centre of same panel contains an inner panel, with a
light-yellow ground, at the top of which is printed in black
the following words: "We guarantee this tin to contain a
mixture of pure coffee with pure colonial chicory in such
proportions as to give it a most delicious flavor;" below
which is a band of red, 2in. by in. deep, upon which is
printed in bright yellow a slip bearing a facsimile in black
of the signature of "W. Gregg & Co.;" below which, on the
lower portion of the inner panel, is printed in black letters
on the yellow ground the following words: "This Coffee is
roasted and ground on the Turkish principle, and as a luxury
for the breakfast-table stands unrivalled. Use hot instead
of cold milk." The second panel is 5ĝin. by 2ĝin., and con-
tains a central picture, 3ĝin. by 2ĝin. in size, of a man, in Arab
dress, riding on a camel, gun in hand, and with background
of trees and domed house. Above the picture is a band
2ĝin. by in., with a red ground, bearing the word "Arabian"
in a fancy white letter, and underneath the picture a similar
band with the word "Coffee" in the same style. The third
panel is 5ĝin. by 2ĝin., with a blue ground divided in the
centre by a green band, inside which the facsimile signature
of "W. Gregg & Co." appears in red on a black ground.
Above the band are the words "We guarantee contents and
weight of every tin," part in black and part in white letter-
ing. Underneath are the words "net weight," "pound,"
between which words is a geometrical design containing in
the centre the figure "1" in white on a red ground. The
fourth panel is a duplication in every detail of the second
panel. The whole design is surrounded by a red border, in.
wide, inside of which is a yellow line about the same width,
which latter is brought between the panels to serve as a
dividing-line.

Nature of the Article to which it is intended such Trade
Mark shall apply.

To each and every the owner or owners of land described in
the substituted valuation-rolls of Native lands supplied
to the local bodies, the names of which are set forth in
the Schedule hereunder, under the provisions of the above
Acts and all other Acts affecting the same or relating
thereto.

WHEREAS demand having been made to me, the under-
signed Colonial Treasurer of the Colony of New Zealand, in
accordance with the provisions of "The Crown and Native
Lands Rating Act, 1882," by or on behalf of the said local
bodies, for payment of the rates appearing to be payable
under or by virtue of the said rolls for the year ended the
31st March, 1889:

Notice is hereby given to you and each and every of you
that rolls of Native lands are now deposited at the offices of
