Setting apart Land in the Hawke's Bay Land District for
Leasing as Small Grazing Runs under "The Land Act,
1885."

A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the one hundred and ninety-seventh
section of "The Land Act, 1885," and of every other power
and authority enabling me in that behalf, I, William
Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby declare that the sections of land
enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the
provisions of sections one hundred and ninety-eight to two
hundred and nineteen of Part VII. of "The Land Act, 1885,"
relating to small grazing runs.

Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington,
this twenty-first day of January, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
nine.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The Government Railways Act, 1887,"
it is, among other things, enacted that the whole Act
shall be and come into force on a day to be proclaimed by
the Governor and published in the Gazette: Now, there-
fore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me by "The Government Railways Act, 1887," I,
William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that
the whole of the said Act shall be and come into force on the
twenty-eighth day of January, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-nine.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-
third day of January, 1889.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in him by "The Government Railways Act,
1887," His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Execu-
tive Council of the said colony, doth hereby appoint the three
persons hereinafter named and described to be Commissioners
for the purposes of the said Act, that is to say,--

JAMES MOKERROW, of Wellington, in the said colony,
Esquire;

JOSEPH PRIME MAXWELL, of Wellington aforesaid,
Esquire;

WILLIAM MOWAT HANNAY, of the same place, Esquire;

each of whom shall hold office subject to the terms and pro-
visions of the said Act: And, in further pursuance and
exercise of the said powers and authorities, and with the like
advice and consent as aforesaid, His said Excellency doth
hereby appoint the said James McKerrow to be Chief Com-
missioner under and for the purpose of the said Act.

Rural Lands in the Auckland Land District open for Sale
or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the third section of "The Land
Act Amendment Act, 1887" (hereinafter termed "the said
Act"), I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of
the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is
provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated
in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection,
after the lapse of a period of forty-five days from the date of
the first public notification hereof, in the manner and upon
the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price
per acre respectively set opposite such land in the said
Schedule.
