Dissolving the Native Committee for the District of Hawke's
Bay.
ONSLOW, Governor.
WHEREAS by subsection six of section seven of "The
Native Committees Act, 1883," it is provided that
the Governor may at any time, if he shall think fit, dissolve
any Committee; And whereas it is expedient to dissolve the
existing Committee for the District of Hawke's Bay, consti-
tuted by Proclamation bearing date the sixteenth day of
January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four:
Now, therefore, I, the Right Honourable William Hillier,
Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
in exercise of the power and authority vested in me in that
behalf, do hereby dissolve the Native Committee for the said
District of Hawke's Bay.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this tenth day of June, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-nine.

Vesting Control of the Narrows Bridge in Waikato County
Council.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section four of "The Public Works Acts
Amendment Act, 1887" (hereinafter termed "the
said Act"), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor may,
upon the terms and conditions in the said section men-
tioned, by Proclamation publicly notified, direct that any
bridge already constructed, or which may hereafter be
constructed, over or across any river or arm of the sea
respectively, shall, from and after a date to be fixed in such
Proclamation, be under the exclusive care, control, and
management of such local authority as shall be mentioned
in that behalf in such Proclamation:
And whereas it is expedient that the control and manage-
ment of the bridge described in the Schedule hereto should
be vested in the manner hereinafter described:
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by the
said Act, and of every other power and authority in any-
wise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby direct that the
bridge mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and known as the
Narrows Bridge, shall, from and after the date of the first
publication hereof in the Waikato Times newspaper, be un-
der the exclusive care, control, and management of the
Waikato County Council; and I do hereby fix and determine
that the Waikato County Council shall itself provide out of
its own funds one-half of the cost of managing and main-
taining the said bridge; and that the Waipa County Council
shall, on demand in writing from the said Waikato County
Council, pay to the said Council from time to time one-half
of the actual cost of managing and maintaining the said
bridge.
SCHEDULE.
THE bridge over the Waikato River, known as the Narrows
Bridge, together with the road approaches thereto for a dis-
tance of 100 feet on either side of the centre of the said
bridge, situated adjacent to Section No. 7, Block VII.,
Hamilton Survey District; as the same is delineated on the
plan marked S.G. 11462, deposited in the General Survey
Office, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington,
and thereon marked in red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of
Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley,
of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Baron
Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and
of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron
Cranley, of Imbercourt; Baronet; a Member of
Her Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council;
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished
Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Go-
vernor and Commander-in-Chief in and over
Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same ;
and issued under the Seal of the said Colony,
at the Government House, at Wellington, this
eighth day of June, in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine.

Lands taken for a Road in Horowhenua County.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto
are required to be taken, under "The Public Works
Act, 1882," and its amendments, for a certain work, to wit,
the construction of a road in Horowhenua County:
And whereas the Horowhenua County Council has laid
before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map,
and also the statutory declaration required by the said Act
and the amendments thereof:
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by
"The Public Works Act, 1882," and of every other power
and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date
of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the
lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for
the purposes of the construction of the said road.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authority
vested in me by the two hundred and sixty-seventh
section of "The Counties Act, 1886," and at the request of
the Geraldine County Council, I, William Hillier, Earl of
Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby proclaim and declare the lands described in the
Schedule hereto to be water-races, as defined by the two
hundred and sixty-sixth section of the said Act, to be known
by the name of the Woodbury Water-races; and, further,
that the River Waihi, in the County of Geraldine, shall be a
stream which may be taken for the purpose of supplying the
said water-races.

WOODBURY WATER-RACE DISTRICT. — WOODBURY WATER-
RACES.
HEAD Race No. 1: All that area, 25 links in width, situate
in the Four Peaks Survey District, commencing at a point
on the right bank of the Waihi River, and proceeding in a
