force in Borough of Roxburgh.
Road; thence across that road, and intersecting Sections
Nos. 5761, 2255, 22158, and 2254, and Reserve No. 1842, to
the Waihi Bush Road; and thence in a westerly direction
across the latter road to Section No. 19931.

Race No. 2: All that area, 124 links in width, situate in
the Survey Districts of Four Peaks and Orari, commencing
at Head Race No. 1, hereinbefore described, in Reserve No.
1842, Four Peaks Survey District, and proceeding in a gene-
rally south-easterly direction, intersecting the said Reserve
No. 1842, to a road; thence across that road, and intersecting
Sections Nos. 21505, 1244, 933, 836, 3610, and 21244, to
Welby Road; thence across that road, and intersecting Sec-
tions Nos. 1243, 1010, 3155, and 3609, to a road intersecting
the last-mentioned section; thence across that road, and
intersecting Section No. 3609 aforesaid, Reserve No. 1544,
and Section No. 15590, Orari Survey District, to the left
bank of the Waihi River.

Race No. 3: All that area, 124 links in width, situate in
the Survey Districts of Four Peaks and Orari, commencing
at Race No. 2, hereinbefore described, in Section No. 21505,
Four Peaks Survey District, and proceeding in a generally
south-easterly direction, intersecting Section No. 21505
aforesaid, to a road; thence across that road, and intersecting
Section No. 21244, crossing Welby Road and another road,
and intersecting Section No. 7851, Reserve No. 1590, Sec-
tions Nos. 21255, 17312, and 18024, to a road; thence across
that road, and intersecting Section No. 17116, Reserve No.
1544, and Sections Nos. 15892 and 15590, Orari Survey Dis-
trict, to Race No. 2 aforesaid.

Race No. 4: All that area, 124 links in width, situate in
the Survey Districts of Orari and Geraldine, commencing at
Race No. 3, hereinbefore described, in Section No. 21255,
Orari Survey District, and proceeding in a generally south-
easterly direction, intersecting Section No. 21255 aforesaid,
and Sections Nos. 17312 and 18024, to a road; thence across
that road, and intersecting Section No. 17116, and Reserve
No. 1544, and Section No. 15892, to Gould's Road; thence
across that road, and intersecting Sections Nos. 17281, 17101,
16548, and 15530, to Metcalfe's Road; thence across that
road, and intersecting Section No. 17718, Geraldine Survey
District, to the Waihi River.

Race No. 5: All that area, 124 links in width, situate in
the Survey Districts of Four Peaks, Orari, and Geraldine,
commencing at Head Race No. 1, hereinbefore described, in
Section No. 19931, Four Peaks Survey District, and pro-
ceeding in a generally south-easterly direction, intersecting
Section No. 19931 aforesaid, and Sections Nos. 15108, 19481,
19931 aforesaid, and 21256, to Morrison's Road; thence
across that road, and intersecting Section No. 19378, Reserve
No. 1572, Orari Survey District, Section No. 19378 aforesaid,
and Section No. 19338, to Campbell's Road; thence across
that road, and intersecting Reserve No. 1191, to Middlemiss
Road; thence across that road, and intersecting Sections
Nos. 15460, 11567, and 8354, Geraldine Survey District.

Race No. 6: All that area, 124 links in width, situate in
the Survey Districts of Orari and Geraldine, commencing at
Race No. 5, hereinbefore described, in Section No. 19378,
and proceeding in a south-westerly direction, intersecting
Section No. 19378 aforesaid, to Section No. 18180; thence in
a south-easterly direction, intersecting the latter section, to
Campbell's Road; thence across that road, and intersecting
Reserve No. 1191, Geraldine Survey District, to Middlemiss
Road.

Race No. 7: All that area, 124 links in width, situate in
the Survey Districts of Orari and Geraldine, commencing at
Race No. 6, hereinbefore described, in Section No. 19378,
Orari Survey District, and proceeding in a south-westerly
direction, intersecting Section No. 19378 aforesaid, Sections
Nos. 18180 and 19378 aforesaid, 19378x, 19377, and 2195, and
Reserves Nos. 1585 and 1191.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS under the provisions of "The Impounding
Act, 1884" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), the
Council of the Borough of Roxburgh, in the Provincial Dis-
trict of Otago, have, by a resolution passed by more than
two-thirds of the members of the said Council, requested his
Excellency the Governor to declare that sections five and six
of the said Act shall be in force within the borough aforesaid:
And whereas it appears expedient to give effect to the said
resolution:

Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the power conferred by the said Act, do hereby
declare that sections five and six of the said Act shall be in
force within the Borough of Roxburgh aforesaid, as from the
first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eiglity-nine.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this first day
of May, 1889.
Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERN-
MENT IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto
are required to be taken for a public work, to wit,
the construction of a road in the Otaki Road District: And
whereas the said lands are held or occupied by Native owners:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
conferred by "The Public Works Act, 1882," and the
amendments thereof, and of all other powers in anywise
enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Adminis-
trator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand,
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said colony, doth hereby order that the public work
hereinbefore mentioned shall and may be constructed on or
through the parcels of land more particularly mentioned in
the Schedule hereto.
