Application for Registration of a Trade Mark.

NOTICE is hereby given that BUTLER BROTHERS, of
Rattray Street, Dunedin, New Zealand, Wholesale
Saddlers, Saddlers' Ironmongers, and Leather Merchants,
have applied to register, under "The Trade Marks Act, 1866,"
the trade mark of which the following is a description:—

Description of Trade Mark.
Upright oval garter, with the words "Trade Mark" on
band, and "A1" in centre.

Nature of the Articles to which it is intended such Trade
Mark shall apply.
General saddlery and leather goods, saddlers' and coach
ironmongery.

Revocation of Appointment of Bonding Warehouse.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the authority in me for this
purpose vested, I, the Commissioner of Trade and
Customs, do, by this order under my hand, revoke and annul
the appointment of the under-mentioned warehouse for the
reception and security of goods entered to be warehoused
without payment of duty upon the first entry thereof,
namely,—

Port of Wairau.
The warehouse known as
SHARP AND PICKERING'S BOND,
as appointed and described in Commissioner's Order No. 138,
of the 23rd February, 1881.

Given under my hand, at Wellington, this thirtieth
day of May, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-nine.

Approving and appointing a Bonding Warehouse.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the powers in me for this
purpose vested by "The Customs Laws Consolidation
Act, 1882," I, the Commissioner of Trade and Customs, do
hereby approve and appoint the under-mentioned warehouse
to be a warehouse for the reception of goods under bond,
namely,--

Port of Wairau.
A warehouse situated in High Street, Blenheim, to be
known as
CLOUSTON'S BOND.

Given under my hand, at Wellington, this thirtieth
day of May, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-nine.

Civil Service Senior Examination.

Education Department,
Wellington, 22nd October, 1888.

IN pursuance of regulations under "The Civil Service
Reform Act, 1886," notice is hereby given that for the
Senior Examination of January, 1890, the period of litera-
ture will be the latter half of the Eighteenth Century, and
the special books will be Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice,
and Goldsmith's Vicar of Wakefield.
