Ngamuka, the Native owner of the land described in the
second column of the Schedule hereto, praying that the
restrictions on the alienation of such land contained in the
Crown grant, bearing date the twenty-sixth day of January,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, described in
the first column of the said Schedule, may be removed: And
whereas it appears expedient to grant such application:
Now, therefore, His Excellency Sir James Prendergast,
the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred
on him by "The Native Land Act, 1888," and acting with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, doth hereby order and declare that all restrictions
imposed by the said Crown grant on the alienation of the
said land are hereby removed.

Amended Regulation under "The Mining Act, 1886," with
respect to Occupation Licenses, Small Areas, Hauraki
Mining District.

WHEREAS by section sixty of "The Mining Act, 1886"
(hereinafter termed "the said Act"), it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time prescribe regula-
tions for the issue of licenses for the occupation, for agricul-
tural, horticultural, or dairy purposes, of any reserve set
apart for mining purposes: And whereas certain regulations
were issued under the hand of His Excellency the Governor
on the twelfth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-seven, with respect to the issue of such licenses as
aforesaid, and it is expedient to amend such regulations in
manner hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Administrator
of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in pur-
suance and exercise of the powers and authorities in that
behalf conferred by the said Act, do hereby amend the Regu-
lation number seventy-six, subsection (L), of the regulations
so issued as aforesaid, in so far as regards the amount of
rent to be paid within the Hauraki Mining District, North
Island; and doth hereby prescribe and direct that in lieu of
an acreage rental, as provided in the said recited regulation,
there shall be payable in respect of every occupation license
issued in the Hauraki Mining District under the said regula-
tion a rental calculated on the capital value of the land to
be occupied, as determined by the Land Board of the dis-
trict, but such rental shall in no case be less than threepence
an acre. In all other respects the provisions of the said
regulations shall apply.
And I do hereby declare that this regulation shall take
effect on and after the publication hereof in the New Zealand
Gazette.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Adminis-
trator of the Government, this second day of
April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
nine.

Rural Lands in the Auckland Land District open for Sale
or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the third section of "The Land
Act Amendment Act, 1887" (hereinafter termed "the said
Act"), I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the
Government of the Colony of New Zealand, having received
the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the
said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural
lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for
sale or selection, after the lapse of a period of forty-five
days from the date of the first public notification hereof, in
the manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the said
Act, and at the price per acre respectively set opposite such
land in the said Schedule.
