Close Season for Rock-oysters made.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this third
day of April, 1889.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Fisheries Conservation Act, 1884"
(hereinafter termed "the said Act"), it is, among
other things, enacted that the Governor in Council may
from time to time make, alter, and revoke regulations for
the purposes therein mentioned, which said regulations shall
have force and effect only in any waters or places specified
therein:
And whereas by Order in Council dated the tenth day of
January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight,
certain regulations were made, in exercise and pursuance of
the powers conferred by the said Act, among other things,
prescribing a close season for rock-oysters:
And whereas it is expedient to revoke such close season
for rock-oysters in respect of the places hereinafter set forth,
and to prescribe a new close season in respect of such
places:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the
Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by the said
Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Execu-
tive Council of the said colony, doth hereby make the
following regulations:--

The close season for rock-oysters prescribed by Order
in Council dated the tenth day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-eight, is hereby revoked in respect
of the places in which this regulation has force and effect,
and the close season for rock-oysters in such places shall be
from the date hereof until the thirty-first day of December,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine; and this regu-
lation shall have force and effect in respect of the County of
Coromandel and the foreshore adjacent thereto, and also in
respect of the foreshore of the coast in Hauraki Gulf and
Frith of Thames, within a line drawn from Point Rodney to
the mouth of the Waikawhau River, situated on the west
coast of the Coromandel Peninsula, and which river forms
one of the boundaries of the County of Coromandel; and
also in respect of the foreshore of all islands in that portion
of the Hauraki Gulf and the Frith of Thames lying to the
southward and westward of a line drawn from Point Rodney
to Cape Colville; and also in respect of the foreshores of the
coast and all islands adjacent thereto between Ngatoka
Rarangui Point on the north and Bream Head on the south. -
Any person committing a breach of the above regula-
tions shall be liable to a penalty of not less than one pound
and not exceeding fifty pounds. -
Every penalty imposed by these regulations shall be
recovered in a summary manner before any two or more
Justices of the Peace.

sions of "The Public Bodies' Powers Act, 1887."

WHEREAS the Borough Council of the City of Welling-
ton, being a leasing authority within the meaning of
"The Public Bodies' Powers Act, 1887" (hereinafter termed
"the said Act"), has requested that these presents should
issue, and it appears expedient to make the order hereinafter
contained:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the
Government of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said colony, doth hereby order and declare that the Borough
Council of the City of Wellington shall, as from the date of
the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, be subject
to the provisions of sections five, six, seven, eight, nine, and
thirteen of the said Act.

WHEREAS the Lyttelton Borough Council, being a
leasing authority within the meaning of "The
Public Bodies' Powers Act, 1887" (hereinafter termed "the
said Act"), has requested that these presents should issue,
and it appears expedient to make the order hereinafter con-
tained:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the
Government of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said colony, doth hereby order and declare that the Lyttelton
Borough Council shall, as from the date of the publication
hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, be subject to the provi-
sions of the said Act.

Removal of Restrictions on Alienation of Native Land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this third
day of April, 1889.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS application has been made to the Adminis-
trator of the Government in Council by Oriwia
Ateraukawa, and also as successor to Hapurona Hamama
and Executors of Hana te Puni, one of the successors to
Ruhia, comprising a majority in number of the Native owners
of the land described in the second column of the Schedule
hereto, praying that the restrictions on the alienation of such
land contained in the Crown grant, bearing date the seventh
day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two,
described in the first column of the said Schedule, may be
removed: And whereas it appears expedient to grant such
application:
Now, therefore, His Excellency Sir James Prendergast,
the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred
on him by "The Native Land Act, 1888," and acting with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, doth hereby order and declare that all restrictions
imposed by the said Crown grant on the alienation of the
said land are hereby removed.
