Additional Regulations under "The Defence Act, 1886."
JAMES PRENDERGAST,
Administrator of the Government.
WHEREAS by warrant under the hand of the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand made under the pro-
visions of "The Defence Act, 1886," and published in the
New Zealand Gazette of the third day of January, one thou-
sand eight hundred and eighty-nine, after reciting, inter alia,
that it had been represented to the Governor that certain
property was held in trust for the Taranaki Volunteers, the
several corps of which were disbanded some years ago, and
no rolls had been preserved showing the names of the per-
sons who at the time of such disbanding formed the said
several corps, or who, as members of such corps, were en-
titled to the property so held on such disbandment, certain
regulations were made for the purposes in the now reciting
warrant particularly set forth: And whereas it has been re-
presented to me that persons who formerly composed such
corps, but who were not members thereof on disbandment,
are or may be found entitled to interests in the said pro-
perty, and it is expedient that additional regulations should
be made for the purpose of enabling the claims of such per-
sons to be ascertained and disposed of under the hereinbefore
mentioned regulations:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Administrator
of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in pur-
suance and exercise of the power and authority vested in
me by "The Defence Act, 1886," and of all other powers and
authorities enabling me in this behalf, do hereby make the
following additional regulations hereinafter set forth, and do
declare that such regulations shall come into force on the
day of the publication of this warrant in the New Zealand
Gazette.

REGULATIONS.

The said regulations of the 3rd day of January, 1889,
shall include and apply to all persons who formerly composed
the several corps of Taranaki Volunteers, and who were
entitled to participate in the funds after leaving the corps, as
well as those who were such members at the time of disband-
ment thereof, and all such regulations as amended hereby
shall be read and construed accordingly. -
The Board appointed by the said regulations shall meet
at New Plymouth, on the 4th day of April, 1889, at the hour
of eleven in the forenoon, and shall cause a notice to be
given to all persons affected by these additional regulations
in the manner prescribed by Regulation No. 6 of the original
regulations; and the said Board shall thereafter proceed in
the exercise and execution of the several powers and duties
intrusted to them in respect of all persons affected by such
regulations as hereby amended.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Adminis-
trator of the Government, this twenty-seventh day
of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
nine.

commission held by
CHARLES NOTMAN
as Lieutenant, Dunedin Naval Artillery Volunteers, and
approves of his transfer to the Honorary Unattached List,
with the rank of Honorary Captain, as provided for by para-
graph 236 of Volunteer Regulations, 1889.

NOTICE is hereby given that His Honour the Chief
Justice, as Judge of the Vice-Admiralty Court in New
Zealand, has this day appointed His Honour JOHN EDWARD
DENNISTON Esq., a Judge of the Supreme Court of New
Zealand, to be a Deputy Judge of the said Vice-Admiralty
Court.
