A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in him by the one hundred and thirty-fifth
section of “The Land Act, 1885,” and of every other power
and authority enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said colony, doth hereby declare that the section of land
enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be set apart for
lease, with right of renewal, under the provisions of Part
IV. of “The Land Act, 1885.”

Removal of Restrictions on Alienation of Native Land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth
day of February, 1889.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor
in Council by Hoterene Wi Pou, Timoti Pohuri, and
Rawinia Hiku, comprising a majority in number of the
Native owners of the land described in the second column
of the Schedule hereto, praying that the restrictions on the
alienation of such land contained in the certificate of title,
bearing date the thirtieth day of January, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-five, described in the first column of the
said Schedule, may be removed: And whereas it appears
expedient to grant such application:

Now, therefore, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drum-
mond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by
“The Native Land Act, 1888,” and acting with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony,
doth hereby order and declare that all restrictions imposed
by the said certificate of title on the alienation of the said
land are, for the purposes only of conveyance to Her Majesty
the Queen, hereby removed.

contained in the Crown grant, bearing date the twenty-first
day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
four, described in the first column of the said Schedule, may
be removed: And whereas it appears expedient to grant
such application:

Now, therefore, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drum-
mond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by
“The Native Land Act, 1888,” and acting with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony,
doth hereby order and declare that all restrictions imposed
by the said Crown grant on the alienation of the said land
are hereby removed.
