eight hundred and eighty-nine.

Land taken for a Further Portion of the Wellington-Napier
Railway: Portion of Awapurua Section.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is required to be taken for a further portion of the
Wellington-Napier Railway, namely, portion of the Awa-
purua Section:

And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to be
observed and performed prior to the taking of such land in
the manner hereby provided have been observed and per-
formed:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the
powers and authorities conferred on me by section one
hundred and thirty of "The Public Works Act, 1882," and
of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me
in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the
further portion of the said line of railway hereinbefore speci-
fied.

Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honour-
able Order of the Bath, Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government
House, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of
February, in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-nine.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule
hereto is required to be taken, under "The Public
Works Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1885," for the con-
struction of a public work within the meaning of the said
Act: And whereas all notices and acts required by law to
be given and done have been duly given and performed, and
the Minister for Public Works has laid before the Governor
a memorial containing a list of the lands proposed to be
taken as aforesaid, together with a map showing accurately
the position and extent thereof, as required by "The Public
Works Act, 1882," and the Acts amending the same:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by
"The Public Works Act, 1882," and "The Public Works
Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1885," and of every other power
and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of
the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the land
