A PROCLAMATION.
BY virtue and in pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the forty-fourth section of "The
Sheep Act, 1878," and of all other powers and authorities
enabling me in that behalf, I, William Francis Drummond
Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the place mentioned in
the Schedule hereto shall be a place at which sheep to be in-
troduced by land into the sheep districts in the said Schedule
shall be crossed over the boundaries of such districts.
SCHEDULE.
NAPIER AND WEST COAST SHEEP DISTRICTS.
WHERE the track to Hunterville, known as "Murray's track,"
crosses the boundary of the Napier and West Coast Sheep
Districts.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Wel-
lington, this fourteenth day of February, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-nine.

Defining the Middle Line of Further Portion of the Line of
Railway from Palmerston North, by way of the Mana-
watu Gorge, to Woodville: Ashurst-Palmerston Section.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the line of railway from Palmerston North,
by way of the Manawatu Gorge, to Woodville, is
one of the railways specified in the First Schedule to "The
Railways Authorisation Act, 1885," and which Act is, in the
fifth section thereof, declared to be a special Act autho-
rising the construction of such railway; and such railway is
unfinished, and it has been determined to construct and
maintain a further portion of the same, namely, the Ashurst-
Palmerston Section:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by
the aforesaid section five of "The Railways Authorisation
Act, 1885," and by sections one hundred and twenty-nine and
one hundred and thirty of "The Public Works Act, 1882,"
and in exercise of every other power and authority in any-
wise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and
declare that the middle line of the said further portion of
the said railway shall be as defined and set forth in the
Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point in Section No. 421, Township of
Ashurst, being a subdivision of Rural Section No. 462, Town-
ship of Palmerston North, which point is the termination of
the Proclamation dated the 2nd October, 1886, and published
in the New Zealand Gazette No. 53, of the 7th October, 1886;
proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction for a dis-
tance of 6 miles 75 chains or thereabouts, and passing in,
into, through, or over the following lands: Sections Nos.
421, 420, 419, 418, 417, 416, 447, 446, 445, 444, 443, 442, 441,
and 440, Township of Ashurst as aforesaid; Sections Nos.
1, 48, 49, and 50, Block III., Gorge Survey District; Sections
Nos. 51, 52, 53, 54, 56, 57, 58, 59, Nominal Reserve No. 474,
Subdivisions Nos. 77, 76, and 75 of Section No. 475, Sub-
divisions Nos. 74, 73, and 72 of Section No. 476, Subdivisions
Nos. 23, 22, and 21 of Section No. 477, Subdivisions Nos. 20,
19, and 18 of Section No. 412, Subdivisions Nos. 17, 16, and
15 of Section No. 413, Subdivisions Nos. 14, 13, and 12 of
Section No. 414, Subdivisions Nos. 11 and 10 of Section No.
415, Block VIII., Kairanga Survey District; Subdivision No. 9
of Section No. 415, Subdivisions Nos. 8, 7, and part of 6,
Section No. 416, Subdivisions Nos. part of 6, 5, and 4 of
Section No. 417, Subdivisions Nos. 3, 2, and 1 of Section No.
418, Blocks VII. and XI., Kairanga Survey District; Section
No. 419, Block XI., Kairanga Survey District; portion of
Section No. 420, Borough of Palmerston North, formerly
acquired for railway purposes; and terminating at a point
distant about 750 links in a westerly direction from the
north-eastern extremity of Public Works Gravel Reserve,
Borough of Palmerston North; and including all adjoining
and intervening places, roads, reserves, streams, rivers, and
watercourses; in the manner delineated on the plan marked
P.W.D 16106, a copy whereof is deposited in the office of the
Registrar of the Supreme Court, at Wellington, in the Pro-
vincial District of Wellington; the total length being 6
miles 75 chains or thereabouts.
