A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it has been found desirable, for the use,
convenience, and enjoyment of the Foxton-New
Plymouth Railway, to take further land at Sentry Hill, in
addition to land previously acquired, for the purposes of the
said railway:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, in the name and
on behalf of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, and as his duly-appointed Deputy, in exercise
of the powers and authorities conferred on him by "The
Public Works Act, 1882," and of every other power and au-
thority in anywise enabling him in that behalf, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule
hereto is taken for the purposes above mentioned.

cels of land are more particularly delineated on the plan
marked P.W.D. 15130, deposited in the office of the Minis-
ter for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial Dis-
trict of Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
Given under the hand of the Honourable Sir James
Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, for and on
behalf of His Excellency the Governor, and as his
duly-appointed Deputy, in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies;
and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at
the Government House, at Wellington, this
thirty-first day of January, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
eight.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in me by "The River Boards Act, 1884," I,
James Prendergast, in the name and on behalf of His Excel-
lency the Governor of New Zealand, and as his duly-
appointed Deputy, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from
and after the date hereof, that part of the said colony de-
scribed in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is
hereby constituted a district under the said Act, and shall
be known by the name of the Dipton River District; and
that the number of the members who are to constitute the
Board of the said district shall be five. And I do also pro-
claim and declare that William Russell, Esquire, of Winton,
shall be the Returning Officer to conduct the first elections
of five members of the aforesaid Board; that Wednesday,
the twenty-ninth day of February, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-eight, shall be the day, and the house of
Andrew Templeton shall be the place, for holding such first
election; and that Thursday, the first day of March, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight, at noon, shall be
the time, and the said house of Andrew Templeton shall be
the place, at which the first meeting of the members of the
Board of the said river district shall be held. And, lastly,
I do proclaim and declare that the aforesaid William Russell
shall be the person to make a roll of electors for the pur-
poses of the aforesaid first elections, in the manner prescribed
by section eight of the said "River Boards Act, 1884."
SCHEDULE.
DIPTON RIVER DISTRICT.
All that area of land in the Southland Land District, com-
prising Sections Nos. 143, 192, 350, 351, 355, and parts of
194, 193, 362, 215, 218, 219, 352, 69, 349, 348, 347, 68, 256,
255, and of Crown lands in Taringatura Survey District, con-
taining 2,750 acres, more or less, and bounded as follows:
Commencing on the east side of Dipton Creek, at a distance
of 40 chains therefrom, at a point situate on the north
boundary of Section No. 143, Taringatura Survey District;
thence in a generally southerly direction, and in an irregular
line uniformly parallel to Dipton Creek and 40 chains dis-
tant therefrom, to a point being a continuation easterly of
the north boundary of Section No. 68 of said district; thence
by a due west line a distance of 10 chains; thence in a
generally southerly direction, and by an irregular line uni-
formly parallel to Dipton Creek and 30 chains distant
therefrom, to a point lying 30 chains north of the south
boundary of said Section No. 68; thence by a due west line
running for a distance of 70 chains; thence in a generally
northerly direction, and by an irregular line running parallel
to Dipton Creek and distant 40 chains therefrom, to the
road-line forming the north boundary of Sections Nos. 193
and 194 of said district; thence by a due east line a distance
of 1 mile to the starting-point.

Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, for and on
behalf of His Excellency the Governor, and as
his duly-appointed Deputy, in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Depen-
dencies; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington,
this second day of February, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
eight.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirty-first
day of January, 1888.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE DEPUTY-GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Hokianga County Council was, by
Orders in Council dated respectively the twenty-
eighth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-nine, and the fifth day of December, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-one, and issued under "The
Harbours Act, 1878," authorised to construct a wharf at
Herd's Point, Hokianga Harbour: And whereas the said
wharf has been constructed, and it is expedient to prescribe
dues and rates to be charged for the use thereof and other-
wise as hereinafter provided:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Deputy-Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in pursuance
and exercise of the power and authority granted to him by the
said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling
him in that behalf, doth hereby prescribe that, from and
after the first day of February next, the dues and rates set
forth in the Schedule hereto shall be charged and taken
for the use of the said wharf; and doth hereby modify and
alter the Orders in Council heretofore made in respect of the
said wharf; and doth declare that, on and after the date of
this Order in Council, the modification and alteration thereof
set forth in the Schedule hereto shall apply to the wharf
aforesaid.
SCHEDULE.

The dues and rates hereby prescribed shall apply to the
wharf so constructed by the County Council of the County of
Hokianga as aforesaid. -
Every person who shall use the said wharf with any
vessel shall pay to the County Council of the County of
Hokianga, or to its officer or other person appointed or
