authorised by it to receive the dues and rates hereby
prescribed, for the use thereof, as follows, that is to say,—
For every vessel lying alongside the wharf—
(a.) One halfpenny per ton per day or part of a day for
every ton register up to 100 tons.
(b.) Exceeding 100 tons, ½d. per ton per day or part of a
day for the first 100 tons, and ¼d. per ton per day or
part of a day for every ton over 100 tons.

Every person who shall use the wharf for landing goods,
or whose goods are stored in any shed on the wharf, shall
pay wharf-dues in respect of the landing, storage, receiving
and delivering such goods, as follows, that is to say,—
(a.) For all goods (except such as are hereinafter provided
for) landed, stored, received, or delivered, at weight or
measurement, according to shipping usage.

  1. The rights conferred under the hereinbefore-mentioned
    Orders in Council shall be and be deemed to have been vested
    in the corporation represented by the said County Council
    for the period of fourteen years from the 5th day of Decem-
    ber, 1881, and may at any time be revoked on three calendar
    months' previous notice in writing by or on behalf of the
    Minister administering the Marine Department of the colony
    being given to the said County Council: Provided that if
    "The Counties Act, 1886," shall be suspended in the County
    of Hokiangs, or if there shall be no such Council, then the
    said Orders in Council be deemed to be revoked without any
    notice being given as aforesaid.

Declaring a certain Road in the County of Buller to be a
County Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirty-first
day of January, 1888.
Present:
His Excellency the Deputy-Governor in Council.
In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him
by "The Public Works Act, 1882," and of all other
powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency
Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, acting by his Deputy, Sir James
Prendergast, and by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby
order that the road in the County of Buller, described in
the Schedule below, shall, on and after the date above men-
tioned, become a county road.

SCHEDULE.
The whole of the Westport to Lyell Road from the Nine-
mile Ferry, at a point distant 5 miles 56 chains 27 links from
a starting-point at the north-eastern corner of the junction
of Queen Street and Roebuck Street, in the Town of West-
port, to a point 22 miles 30 chains from the said starting-
point; distance 16 miles 53 chains 73 links (as shown on
plan marked P.W.D. 15426, deposited in the office of the
Minister for Public Works, at Wellington); including the
portions recently constructed or improved by Government,
as shown on the said plan in red.

Amending Boundaries of Papatoitoi and Manurewa Road
Districts, County of Manukau.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirty-first
day of January, 1888.
Present:
His Excellency the Deputy-Governor in Council.
Whereas by section twenty of "The Counties Act,
1886" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), it is
provided that all the powers of a County Council relating to
the alteration of the boundaries of any road or town districts
within a county, or of amalgamating such districts, or of
merging any of them into the county, and all other powers
in relation to such districts exercisable by the Council by
special order or on petition, may be exercised by the
Governor in Council in respect of any of the counties in
which the said Act is suspended: And whereas the said
Act is suspended in the County of Manukau: And whereas
in pursuance of "The Road Boards Act, 1882," and "The
Road Boards Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1883," petitions have
been presented to His Excellency the Governor praying him
to alter the boundaries of the Papatoitoi and Manurewa Road
Districts:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, for and on behalf of
His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
and as his duly-appointed Deputy, in pursuance and exercise
of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said Act,
and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this
behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby order
and declare that from and after the ninth day of March, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight, the boundaries
of the said districts as at present constituted shall cease to
be the boundaries of the said districts; and that the boun-
daries of the said districts shall be those which are specified
in the Schedule hereto; and also that the Road Boards of
the said districts shall be dissolved upon the said ninth
day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
eight; and that the Road Board of each of the said districts
as altered by this Order in Council shall consist of five
members; and, further, that the first election of members
of the new Boards shall be conducted in accordance with
"The Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876:" and I
do, by and with the advice aforesaid, further appoint
Augustus James Shackell to be the Clerk and the Returning
Officer to conduct the first elections of the Road Board of
the Papatoitoi Road District; and do appoint Saturday,
the tenth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-eight, to be the day for holding such first elec-
tions; and that the first meeting of the new Board of the
said Papatoitoi Road District shall be held at the Otara
Schoolhouse, on Saturday, the seventeenth day of March,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight, at ten o'clock
in the forenoon: and I do, by and with the advice afore-
said, further appoint Smollett Henderson Reid to be the
Clerk and the Returning Officer to conduct the first elec-
tions of the Road Board of the Manurewa Road District;
and that Monday, the twelfth day of March, one thou-
sand eight hundred and eighty-eight, be the day for holding
such elections; and Monday, the nineteenth day of March,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight, at two o'clock
in the afternoon, to be the time, and the Goods-shed at
the Manurewa Railway-station to be the place, at which
the first meeting of the new Board of the said Manurewa
Road District shall be held.

SCHEDULE.
PAPATOITOI ROAD DISTRICT.
All that area in the County of Manukau bounded towards
the north-east by a line along the middle of the Great South
Road from Tamaki River to a point in line with the northern
boundary-line of Section No. 2, Parish of Papakura, Otahuhu
Survey District; towards the south-east by a straight line to
the north-eastern corner of the said section, and by that
section to the Puhinui Stream; towards the south and east
generally by the said Puhinui Stream to Manukau Harbour;
towards the south-west by that harbour; towards the north-
west by Pukaki Creek to the western side of the road forming
the eastern boundary of Section No. 52, Parish of Manurewa,
Otahuhu Survey District; thence by the said Section No. 52
and Sections Nos. 56 and 55 of the said Parish of Manurewa,
and by the north-side of the Pukaki Portage-road to Section
No. 14, Parish of Manurewa aforesaid; and thence by part
of the western boundary-line of the said Section No. 14 and
by Tamaki River aforesaid.
