of the Upper Ashburton Branch of the Hurunui-Waitaki
Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable, for the use,
convenience, and enjoyment of the main line to
Upper Ashburton Branch of the Hurunui-Waitaki Railway,
to take further land at Valetta Station, in addition to land
previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of
the powers and authorities conferred on me by "The Public
Works Act, 1882," and of every other power and authority
in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is taken for the purposes above mentioned.

Proclaiming the Taking and Laying-off of a Road over Land
in the Auckland Provincial District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of all powers and authorities
enabling me in this behalf, I, William Francis Drum-
mond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
do hereby proclaim that the road described in the Schedule
hereto has been duly taken and laid off through the land
specified under warrant of the date given in the said Sche-
dule.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District,
containing by admeasurement 18Β·2 perches, more or less,
situate in the Coromandel Survey District, and being a
portion of a road-line traversing part of the eastern portion
of the Weti No. 3 Block (No. 2043); commencing at road-
angle peg No. 29. Bounded towards the east by the
Whangamaroro River; towards the south-west by a line,
280 links; and towards the north-west by a line, 57 links, to
the commencing-point: be all the aforesaid linkages more
or less; as the same is delineated on Map No. 4677, depo-
sited in the Survey Office, Auckland.

Date of Governor's warrant, 28th November, 1887.

Vesting Control of the Upper Pareora Traffic-bridge in
Waimate County Council.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section four of "The Public Works Acts
Amendment Act, 1887" (hereinafter termed "the
said Act"), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor may,
upon the terms and conditions in the said section men-
tioned, by Proclamation publicly notified, direct that any
bridge already constructed, or which may hereafter be
constructed, over or across any river or arm of the sea,
respectively, shall, from and after a date to be fixed in such
Proclamation, be under the exclusive care, control, and
management of such local authority as shall be mentioned
in that behalf in such Proclamation:
And whereas it is expedient that the control and manage-
ment of the bridge described in the Schedule hereto should
be vested in the manner hereinafter described:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by
the said Act, and of every other power and authority in any-
wise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby direct that the
bridge mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and known as the
Upper Pareora Traffic-bridge, shall, from and after the date
of the first publication hereof in the Timaru Herald news-
paper, be under the exclusive care, control, and management
of the Waimate County Council; and I do hereby fix and
determine that the Waimate County Council shall itself
provide out of its own funds one-half of the cost of managing
and maintaining the said bridge; and that the Levels Road
Board shall, on demand in writing from the said Waimate
County Council, pay to the said Council from time to time
one-half of the actual cost of managing and maintaining the
said bridge.

SCHEDULE.

That bridge over the Pareora River, known as the Upper
Pareora Traffic-bridge, and the approaches on each side
thereof, situated on the line of road which passes in a
north-easterly direction through Section No. 7105, in the
County of Waimate, and between Sections Nos. 12750 and
16029, in the County of Geraldine, all in the Provincial
District of Canterbury; as the same is delineated on the
plans marked P.W.D. 15934, deposited in the office of the
Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial
District of Wellington, and thereon marked in red.
