HALDON WATER-RACE EXTENSION.
Gemmell's Branch Race.
All that area, 25 links in width, situate in the Selwyn Sur-
vey District, County of Selwyn, commencing at the north-
eastern corner of Section No. 10474, and proceeding generally
south-easterly across and along the eastern side of the road
forming the eastern boundary of the said section for a
distance of 1950 links ; thence through Sections Nos. 12159,
10473, 10378, 10328, 10327, and 10279, and along the western
side of the road forming the eastern boundary of the last-
mentioned section to the south-eastern corner of Section No.
4083.
WATER-RACE EXTENSIONS IN THE ELLESMERE WATER-RACE
DISTRICT.
Campbell's Branch-race Extension.
All that area, 25 links in width, situate in the Selwyn
Survey District, County of Selwyn, commencing at the
northern side of the road forming the south-eastern bound-
ary of Section No. 12341, at the termination of Campbell's
Branch Race, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No.
63, 9th December, 1886, and proceeding generally easterly
across the said road and through Sections Nos. 10546, 12455,
12653, 14677, 34993, 33032, 21182, 21595, 28538, and 27829 to
Adams's Race, hereinafter described, near the north-eastern
boundary-line of the last-mentioned section.
Gale's Branch-race Extension.
All that area, 25 links in width, situate in the Selwyn Survey
District, County of Selwyn, commencing in Crown land at a
point about 1000 links south-east of the road forming the
south-eastern boundary of Section No. 35672, being the termi-
nation of Gale's Branch Race, as described in the New Zea-
land Gazette No. 63, 9th December, 1886, and proceeding
generally south-easterly through the said Crown land, across
a road and through Section No. 32286, across a road and
through Crown land to the south-western corner of Section
No. 35217 ; thence through Crown land along the southern
side of the last-mentioned section for a distance of about
2400 links ; thence through Section No. 35217, across a road
and through Sections Nos. 18023 and 9557, across a road and
through Section No. 34016, across a road and through Sec-
tions Nos. 17634, 14036, 7805, 5938, and 29739, across a road
and through Sections Nos. 34014, 25295, 28336, 25320, and
27586, Crown lands, and Section No. 23149, along and across
a road to the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 33381.
Dunsandel Branch-race Extension.
All that area, 25 links in width, situate in the Leeston Sur-
vey District, County of Selwyn, commencing at the south-
eastern corner of Section No. 7606, at the termination of
Dunsandel Branch Race, as described in the New Zealand
Gazette No. 63, 9th December, 1886, and proceeding gene-
rally south-easterly across and along the road forming the
south-western boundary of Sections Nos. 9268, 8200, 9297,
9315, 9890, and 14558, across and along the south-western
side of the said road to the northernmost corner of Section
No. 14506 ; thence through the said Section No. 14506 and
across a road to Nixon's Branch Race, hereinafter de-
scribed, in Section No. 17823.
Adams's Branch Race.
All that area, 25 links in width, situate in the Survey Dis-
tricts of Selwyn and Leeston, County of Selwyn, commencing
at Gale's Branch-race Extension, hereinbefore described, in
Crown land at a point about 1700 links east of the south-
western corner of Section No. 35217, and proceeding generally
south-easterly through Crown land and Sections Nos. 25830,
34016, 15368, 14281, and 25779, across a road and through
Sections Nos. 34015, 35724, 35723, 28538, and 27829, across a
road and through Sections Nos. 26009, 34992, and 21541,
across and along a road and through Section No. 23292 and
Reserve No. 381, and roads intersecting the same, to the
northernmost corner of Section No. 32486 ; thence along the
north-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section to
Nixon's Branch Race, hereinafter described.
Nixon's Branch Race.
All that area, 25 links in width, situate in the Survey Dis-
tricts of Selwyn, Leeston, and Southbridge, County of Selwyn,
commencing in Section No. 10080, at Centre Branch Race, as
described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 63, 9th December,
1886, and proceeding generally south-easterly across a road
and through Sections Nos. 9808, 10747, 10748, 9534, and
7567, across a road and through Sections Nos. 8286, 7173,
7174, 7269, 7270, 9450, and 13574, across a road and through
Sections Nos. 23179 and 32486, across a road and through
Sections Nos. 34581 and 25296, across a road and through
Sections Nos. 7282, 17823, and 10295, across and along a road
and through Sections Nos. 14510, 7849, and 21599 to the
easternmost corner of the last-mentioned section.
Quirk's Branch Race.
All that area, 25 links in width, situate in the Leeston Sur-
vey District, County of Selwyn, commencing in Section No.
7606, at Dunsandel Branch Race, as described in the New
Zealand Gazette No. 63, 9th December, 1886, and proceeding
generally south-easterly across a road and through Sections
Nos. 9269, 9810, and 9502, across a road and through Sec-
tions Nos. 10797, 7155, 6923, 6994, 7451, 7667, 14558, 6400,
12652, and 6400 aforesaid, across a road and through Section
No. 7385 and through Reserve No. 1184, a distance of about
900 links east of the western corner of Section No. 7385.
Selwyn Branch Race (altered).
All that portion of the Selwyn Branch Race, as described
in the New Zealand Gazette No. 63, 9th December, 1886,
commencing at a point in Section No. 7347, Leeston Survey
District, about 1600 links north of the southern boundary of
that section, and proceeding through the said section and
Sections Nos. 7349 and 9316 to the north-western boundary of
Section No. 9484, is abandoned, and the following is substi-
tuted in lieu thereof:β
All that area, 25 links in width, situate in the Leeston Sur-
vey District, County of Selwyn, commencing at a point in
Section No. 7347 about 1600 links north of the southern
boundary-line of that section, and proceeding south-westerly
for a distance of about 1200 links ; thence easterly to the
westernmost corner of Section No. 7349 ; thence through the
said Section No. 7349 and Sections Nos. 10708, 9316, 9484,
9810, 9503, and 9502 to Quirk's Race, hereinbefore described.

Acclimatisation District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth
day of October, 1888.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him
by "The Salmon and Trout Act, 1867," and "The
Fisheries Conservation Act, 1884," His Excellency the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, doth hereby make the following regulations for the
Wanganui District, which consists of the Counties of Wa-
ganui and Waitotara, and the Ridings of Okakapu, Porewa,
Wangaehu, Makohau, and Paraekaretu, in the County of
Rangitikei, and in the waters thereof; and doth hereby
declare that these regulations shall, as from the date of the
publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette, supersede
all regulations at variance therewith.
REGULATIONS.

Licenses to fish for trout, carp, and perch in all the
waters within the Counties of Wanganui and Waitotara, and
the Ridings of Okakapu, Porewa, Wangaehu, Makohau, and
Paraekaretu, in the County of Rangitikei, will be issued
under the hand of the Secretary of the Wanganui Acclima-
tisation Society, and for every such license a fee of ten
shillings will be charged: Provided that it shall not be
obligatory upon the society to issue a license. -
Every such license shall entitle the person named
therein to fish in any of the said waters from the first day of
November in any one year to the eleventh day of April in
the following year inclusive, between the hours of four a.m.
and ten p.m. only; but no such license shall confer any right
of entry upon the land of any person without his consent.
