  1. No person shall fish for, take, catch, or kill, or have in
    his possession, or attempt to fish for, take, catch, or kill, in
    any manner whatever, any of the salmonidæ, trout, carp, or
    perch, except during the above-mentioned period.

  2. Every such license shall entitle the person named
    therein to fish with one rod and line only, and with the
    following baits: natural or artificial fly, natural or artificial
    minnows, silveries, bullies, grasshoppers, spiders, caterpillars,
    creepers, and worms.

  3. No person shall use any other bait, or any method,
    device, or contrivance of any sort or kind whatever, for the
    purpose of fishing for, taking, catching, or killing trout, carp,
    or perch, except a rod and line, and a landing-net or gaff
    for fish taken with rod and line.

  4. No cross-line fishing, stroke-hauling, or any other un-
    sportsmanlike device shall be used for the purpose of taking,
    catching, or killing trout, carp, or perch; nor shall any of
    the baits above mentioned be used with any medicated or
    chemical preparation whatever.

  5. No person shall fish without a license, and every person
    fishing shall, on demand of any ranger, constable, member
    of the said society, or person producing a license, produce
    and show to such ranger, member, constable, or person
    his license, and the contents of his creel or bag, and the
    bait used by him for taking, catching, or killing trout, carp,
    or perch.

  6. Every trout, carp, or perch, not exceeding eight inches
    in length, from nose to tip of tail, taken or caught by any
    person, shall immediately be returned alive into the water
    from which the same is taken.

  7. No person shall put, throw, or place, or allow to be
    put, thrown, or placed, in any of the said waters, any saw-
    dust or sawmill refuse, or anything of any kind or description
    whatever poisonous, deleterious, or noxious to fish.

  8. No person shall take, fish for, catch, or kill in any
    manner whatever, or have in his possession, any salmon,
    salmon-parr, or smolts, or the ova, young, or fry of any
    salmon in any stage whatever; and any of the above-named
    taken by accident shall immediately be returned to the
    water from whence it was taken.

  9. No person shall buy, sell, or expose or offer for sale,
    within the district to which these regulations relate, any
    of the salmonidæ, trout, carp, or perch, or take, fish for,
    catch, or kill any of the salmonidæ, trout, carp, or perch,
    in order to make sale of the same, without permission in
    writing under the hand of the Secretary of the said society.

  10. No person shall have in his possession any of the
    salmonidæ, trout, carp, or perch between the twelfth day of
    April and the thirty-first day of October in each year, which
    period is appointed a close season for all such fish.

  11. The penalty for the breach of any of these regulations
    shall not be less than forty shillings or more than fifty
    pounds.

  12. These regulations shall come into force as from the
    date of the publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

Consenting to Road being taken through certain Land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth
day of October, 1888.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him
by "The Public Works Act, 1882," and "The Public
Works Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1885 (No. 2)," and of all
other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His
Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, doth hereby consent to the taking of certain land,
described in the Schedule below, for the purpose of a public
road in the Coromandel County, the said land being alleged
by the owner or occupier thereof to be, or to include or com-
prise, an orchard.

SCHEDULE.

The parcel of land mentioned hereunder:—

A. R. P. O 0 16·8 235N (Orchard) Karamuramu X. Otama.

In the Provincial District of Auckland; as the said parcel of
land is more particularly delineated on the plan marked
P.W.D. 15907, deposited in the office of the Minister for
Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of
Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth
day of October, 1888.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in him by "The Public Domains Act, 1881," His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zea-
land, by and with the advice and consent of the Execu-
tive Council thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order
in Council, dated the fourth day of February, one thou-
sand eight hundred and eighty-one, making delegation of
certain powers in manner as therein appears; and doth,
with the like advice and consent, by this present order,
delegate, but only with respect to the piece or parcel of
land described in the Schedule hereto, all the powers con-
ferred by the Act aforesaid, except the powers under or
conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, to the under-
mentioned persons, who shall be known as the Rangiora
Public Domain Board, namely,—

JOHN LILLY,
ALBERT PARSONS,
MALCOLM DUNCAN,
EDWARD MULCOCK,
AQUILA IVORY, and
WILLIAM BUSS

(herein referred to as "the Board"), subject to the stipula-
tions hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business
    on the first Monday in each month, at four o'clock p.m., at
    the Road Board office, Rangiora, or at such other time or
    place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board.
    The first meeting shall be held on Monday, the fifth day
    of November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or
    by any two members of the Board, provided that two days'
    notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying
    the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and
    no other business than that so specified shall be transacted
    at such meeting.

  3. Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any
    meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  4. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
    and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the first
    Monday in February in every succeeding year thereafter,
    elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the
    discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting
    vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of
    his successor.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
    time appointed for holding the same, the members present
    shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of
    such meeting.

  6. If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise,
    the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the mem-
    bers may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a
    Chairman.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of
    votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the Rangiora Survey District,
Provincial District of Canterbury, being Reserve No. 132 (in
red), containing 10 acres, more or less. Bounded northward
by Section No. 2673; eastward by Section No. 1623; south-
ward by Section No. 1197; and westward by a road-line.
Also all those two parcels of land in the same survey district,
being Reserve No. 1563 (in red), containing together 85 acres,
more or less, viz.: No. 1, bounded southward by Section No.
4758; westward by Sections Nos. 1623 and 1197; and north-
ward and eastward by road-lines. No. 2, bounded south-
ward by Reserve No. 142 (in red); north-eastward by Sec-
tions Nos. 3025 and 12315; and northward, westward, and
south-eastward by road-lines.
