to be the property of Her Majesty.
Lot 5, Parish of Waiotahi.—Containing 20 acres, situated
in the Opotiki Survey District, being the whole of the land
comprised in Crown grant, Vol. xxiv., folio 135, of the
Register-book of the Auckland District.
Lot 25, Parish of Waiotahi.—Containing 19 acres 2 roods,
situated in the Opotiki Survey District, being the whole of
the land comprised in Crown grant, Vol. xviii., folio 198,
of the Register-book of the Auckland District.
Lot 282, Parish of Waiotahi.—Containing 5 acres and 31
perches, situated in the Whakatane Survey District, being the
whole of the land comprised in Crown grant, Vol. xxiv., folio
223, of the Register-book of the Auckland District.
Lot 288, Parish of Waiotahi.—Containing 5 acres and 16
perches, situated in the Whakatane Survey District, being
the whole of the land comprised in Crown grant, Vol. xviii.,
folio 162, of the Register-book of the Auckland District.
Lot 309, Parish of Waiotahi.—Containing 5 acres 2 roods
36 perches, situated in the Whakatane Survey District, being
the whole of the land comprised in Crown grant, Vol.
xviii., folio 235, of the Register-book of the Auckland District.
Lot 348, Parish of Waiotahi.—Containing 20 acres,
situated in the Opotiki Survey District, being the whole of
the land comprised in Crown grant, Vol. xviii., folio 163, of
the Register-book of the Auckland District.
Lot 376, Parish of Waiotahi.—Containing 20 acres 2 roods,
situated in the Opotiki Survey District, being the whole of
the land comprised in Crown grant, Vol. xviii., folio 236,
of the Register-book of the Auckland District.
Lot 377, Parish of Waiotahi.—Containing 20 acres and
22 perches, situated in the Opotiki Survey District, being the
whole of the land comprised in Crown grant, Vol. xviii., folio
174, of the Register-book of the Auckland District.
Oiohereki No. 2b (No. 1).—Containing 4,337 acres, situated
in the Rotorua Survey District, being the whole of the land
comprised in, and declared by, an order of the Native Land
Court, made at Maketu, on the 4th day of April, 1888, to be
the property of Her Majesty. Excepting out of the herein-
before-mentioned area the following Native reserves, viz.:
Section No. 1, Block XVI., Rotorua Survey District, con-
taining 40 acres, to be granted to Henare Werahiko and
Turi te Atuahaerangi; and Section No. 2, Block XVI., Roto-
rua Survey District, known as Patirukaruka Burial-ground,
containing 4 acres. Section No. 3, Block XVI., Rotorua
Survey District, known as Hongohongo Burial-ground, con-
taining 1 acre and 35 perches; Section No. 2, Block XV.,
Rotorua Survey District, known as Waiponokino Burial-
ground, containing 2 roods and 17 perches; and Section
No.1, Block XV., Rotorua Survey District, known as Tua-
huraurekau Burial-ground, containing 2 roods: all to be
granted to Te Nuku te Ngira and Turi te Atuahaerangi.
Mangatainoka C No. 1.—Containing 142 acres 3 roods
18 perches, situated in the Mangahao and Makuri Survey
Districts, being the whole of the land comprised in, and
declared by, an order of the Native Land Court, made at
Palmerston North, on the 2nd day of June, 1887, to be the
property of Her Majesty.
Mangatainoka E No. 1.—Containing 500 acres, situated
in the Mangahao and Makuri Survey Districts, being the
whole of the land comprised in, and declared by, an order of
the Native Land Court, made at Palmerston North, on the
6th day of May, 1887, to be the property of Her Majesty.
Excepting out of the hereinbefore-mentioned area a reserve
containing 10 acres, to be granted to Paraone Ngatata.
Mangatainoka H No. 1.—Containing 151 acres, situated in
the Mangahao Survey District, being the whole of the land
comprised in, and declared by, an order of the Native Land
Court, made at Palmerston North, on the 8th day of May,
1887, to be the property of Her Majesty.
Mangatainoka J No. 1.—Containing 3,752 acres 2 roods
24 perches, situated in the Mangahao Survey District, being
the whole of the land comprised in, and declared by, an
order of the Native Land Court, made at Palmerston North,
on the 2nd day of June, 1887, to be the property of Her
Majesty. Excepting out of the hereinbefore-mentioned area
a reserve containing 650 acres, to be granted to Hoani
Maihana te Rangiotu, Hana Peka te Rangiputangitahi,
Meiha Keepa te Rangihiwinui, Tamatea Tohu, Ereni te
Aweawe, Huhana Panga, Ema Heni te Aweawe, Heni te
Aweawe, Arapera te Rangiotu, Tapita Matina te Rangipu-
tangitahi, Rora Tohu, and Henare Tiweta, each 50 acres, and
to Mohi Rangimauriora, Te Kana Rangimauriora, and Te
Koeti Rangimauriora, together 50 acres.
Mangatainoka K No. 1.—Containing 9,759 acres, situated
in the Mangahao, Tararua, and Mangaone Survey Districts,
being the whole of the land comprised in, and declared by,
an order of the Native Land Court, made at Palmerston
North, on the 26th day of May, 1887, to be the property of
Her Majesty.
Atuahae No. 2.—Containing 498 acres, situated in the
Rarete and Makotuku Survey Districts, being the whole of
the land comprised in a memorial of ownership, issued by
the Native Land Court, and entered on Vol. ii., folio 47, of
the Court Rolls of the Wanganui District.
Horowhenua No. 2.—Containing 3,988 acres 2 roods 32
perches, situated in the Waiopehu Survey District, being the
whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. xlvi.,
folio 55, of the Register-book of the Wellington District.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Wel-
lington, this fifteenth day of August, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-eight.

A PROCLAMATION.
BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in him by the two hundred and fortieth section
of “The Land Act, 1885,” and of every other power and
authority enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, and at the request of the School Commissioners of
the Otago Provincial District, in whom the land herein
described is vested, doth hereby declare that the land
enumerated in the Schedule hereto, which has been reserved
for educational purposes, shall be sold or leased, subject to
the provisions of “The Land Act, 1885,” and “The Land
Act Amendment Act, 1887.”
SCHEDULE.
Wendonside Survey District.
First-class Land.
- Section 1, Block VII.: Agricultural, lower flat fairly watered greater part of year accessible; four miles from Riversdale Railway-station.
- Section 2, Block VII.: Agricultural, two-thirds low flat, similar to Section 1 four and a half miles from Riversdale Railway-station.
- Section 10, Block VII.: Agricultural, open, undulating; three-fourths upper terrace, unwatered; low land between railway and river, well watered, soil good; six miles from Riversdale Railway-station.
- Section 11, Block VII.: Agricultural, open, undulating, and level; three-fifths upper terrace, unwatered; six miles from Riversdale Railway-station.
- Section 16, Block VII.: Agricultural, open, undulating, and level; four-fifths upper terrace, watered by springs along railway, portion between river and railway well watered, soil good; four and a half miles from Riversdale Railway-station.
- Section 18, Block VII.: Agricultural, open, level, soil good, watered. This piece of land will ultimately be wholly cut off, and then be on the east side of the Waikaka River.
- Sections 1 and 2, Block VIII.: Agricultural, watered, accessible; four miles from Riversdale Railway-station.
- Section 3, Block VIII.: Agricultural, watered, accessible; two and a half miles from Riversdale Railway-station.
All the above sections generally open and level, in two terraces from 455ft. to 490ft. above the sea, from twenty-two to twenty-five miles from Waikaka Bush. Over the greater part from 5in. to 8in. of soil on shingle, interspersed with better pieces.
