Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, County of Bruce.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Bruce County Council, is published in accordance with "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886."

LAKES DRAINAGE DISTRICT.
RESULT of poll on the proposal to borrow £750, under "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886," for the purpose of widening Kaitangata Creek and cutting main drain through Kaitangata Borough, taken on the 28th July, 1888:—
Total number of ratepayers on roll, 23; representing 36 votes. Votes recorded in favour of the proposal, 25; number of ratepayers voting for the proposal, 16; votes against, nil; number of ratepayers voting against proposal, nil; votes not recorded, 11.
As a majority in number of the ratepayers voted in favour of the proposal, and the number so voting are entitled to more than half the number of votes that can be exercised by the whole number of the ratepayers, I do hereby declare the proposal carried.

WHEREAS it has been made to appear to me that the Carlton Club does not comply with or conform to the conditions of the two hundred and twenty-ninth section of "The Licensing Act, 1881:"
Now, therefore, I, Thomas William Hislop, the Colonial Secretary of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby revoke and annul the charter which has been granted to the said club.

NOTICE is hereby given that EDWARD WATERS, Patent Agent, of Melbourne, in the Colony of Victoria, has applied, on behalf of BERGISCHE BRAUEREI GESELLSCHAFT, of Elberfeld, in Germany, to register, under "The Trade Marks Act, 1866," the trade marks numbered 1 and 2, of which the following is a description:—
Description of Trade Marks.
No. 1 consists of the device of a six-pointed star bearing the representation of a spread eagle, having a crown upon its head, and holding in one claw an orb and in the other a sceptre.
No. 2 consists of an oval label bearing an oval band, upon which are the words "Gustav Kupper Elberfeld Deutsches Export Bier." In the upper portion of the space enclosed by said oval band is the device of a six-pointed star bearing the representation of a spread eagle, having a crown upon its head, and holding in one claw an orb and in the other a sceptre. Across the centre of the label is a ribbon, upon which are the representations of several medals.
Nature of the Article to which it is intended such Trade Marks shall apply.

No. 1 consists of an oval label bearing the words "D. Dunlop, Columbia, Petbg., Va."
No. 2 consists of an oblong label bearing the words "Columbia, David Dunlop." Above and at either end of the word "Columbia" is a small scroll, the whole being enclosed within a plain-line oblong border.
No. 3 consists of an oval label, usually made of yellow paper, and bearing the words "David Dunlop, successor to D. B. Tennant & Co., Derby, Petersburg, Va." The whole is enclosed within an oval.
