Proclaiming the Taking and Laying-off of a Road over Land in the Wellington Provincial District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and in exercise of all powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim that the road described in the Schedule hereto has been duly taken and laid off through the land specified under warrant of the date given in the said Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that regular piece of land, 1 chain wide, containing by admeasurement 8 acres 3 roods 5 perches, more or less, being portion of Part 2 of Section No. 865, Block XIV., Manga-pakeha Survey District, the north-western boundary of which commences at a point marked A, on the southern boundary-line of said section, distant 2178 links from its south-west corner, and extends thence in a north-easterly direction to a point marked B, on the north-eastern boundary-line of Part 2 of same section, distant 6667 links from its north-west corner; as the same piece of land is more particularly delineated on plan marked Survey Office 2053/37, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington.
Date of warrant, 7th May, 1888.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by a Proclamation under "The Dog Registration Act, 1880," dated the twenty-ninth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the thirtieth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, the area comprised within the district described in the Schedule hereto was excluded from the operation of the said Act: And whereas it is expedient to extend the operation of the said Act to the aforesaid district:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, in the name and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, and as his duly-appointed Deputy, in exercise of the powers vested in me by the said "Dog Registration Act, 1880," do hereby declare that the operation of the said Act is extended to the district described in the Schedule hereto, and that such operation shall take effect from the first day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the County of Taranaki, bounded towards the north by the Newall Road; towards the east by the Waiweranui Block and the western boundary-line of that block produced to the Ngarike Road; towards the south and south-east by that road; and towards the west by the Main South Road: exclusive of Sections Nos. 59 (Pungarehu), 60, 61, 62, and 125.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, for and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor, and as his duly-appointed Deputy, in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority in this behalf enabling me, I, James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, in the name and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, and as his duly-appointed Deputy, do hereby fix and appoint that a sitting of the District Court of Nelson shall be held as follows:β
In the Courthouse at Nelson, for the despatch of civil and criminal business, on Thursday, the sixth day of September next.
As witness the hand of His Excellency Sir James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, as such Deputy as aforesaid, this first day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight.

Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of a Reserve at Queenstown, Otago.

WHEREAS by "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may declare his intention to make, change, exchange, or alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter vested in Her Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes named in Class II. of the Schedule to the said Act, whether the same be granted or not; and, in the case of any reserves made under the authority of section two hundred and twenty-seven of "The Land Act, 1885," if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose of such reserves or any part thereof from the purpose or presumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in such reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one or more purposes named in the said Class II., the Governor may, by notice in the Gazette, declare his intention to make such change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and in such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same is intended to be so made:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," aforesaid, declare my intention to change the specific purpose of the reserve described in the first column of the Schedule hereto to the specific purpose set opposite such description in the second column of the said Schedule.
