A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the sixth section of “The Licensing Act, 1881,” it is enacted that the Governor shall, as soon as conveniently may be after the commencement of the said Act, by Proclamation in the Gazette, from time to time define districts to be licensing districts under the said Act, and from time to time may alter and redefine the boundaries of the same:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, alter and redefine the boundaries of the Meanee Licensing District, which shall, from and after the twenty-fourth day of January instant, be those described in the First Schedule hereto; and do hereby proclaim and define the part of the colony mentioned and described in the Second Schedule hereto to be, from and after the said twenty-fourth day of January instant, an ordinary licensing district for the purposes of the said Act.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
HAWKE’S BAY COUNTY.
Meanee Licensing District.—Comprises all that area known as the Riding of Meanee, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 12, of 1st February, 1883, exclusive of the Town District of Taradale, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 62, of 2nd December, 1886.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
HAWKE’S BAY COUNTY.
Taradale Licensing District.—Comprises all that area known as the Town District of Taradale, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 62, of 2nd December, 1886.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in the Governor by “The Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1875,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing registration districts known as the Thames and Tauranga Districts; and do proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said districts is hereby divided anew into three registration districts, the names whereof shall be the Thames, Ohinemuri, and Tauranga Districts, and the boundaries whereof shall be coterminous with the boundaries of the marriage districts bearing the same names as are set forth in a Proclamation of even date herewith, made under the provisions of “The Marriage Act, 1880.”
And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come into operation on the sixth day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in the Governor by “The Marriage Act, 1880,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing marriage districts known as the Thames and Tauranga Districts, and do proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said districts is hereby divided anew into three marriage districts, the names and boundaries whereof shall be as follow:—
THAMES REGISTRATION DISTRICT.
All that area in the Provincial District of Auckland bounded towards the north by the Waikawau River to its source; thence towards the east generally by the summit of the dividing-range between the East and West Coast to a point due west of the south-western corner of Wharekawa East No. 1 Block; thence towards the south by a right line to that corner; thence towards the north-west generally by the Tairua River and the northern boundary of Wharekawa East No. 1 Block to the sea; again towards the east by the sea to the mouth of the Otahu River; towards the south generally by the said Otahu River to its source; thence by a right line to the nearest source of the Hikutaia River, and by the said Hikutaia River to its confluence with the Waihou River; thence by a right line due west to the Piako River; and towards the west generally by the said Piako River and the Firth of Thames to the Waikawau River aforesaid.
OHINEMURI REGISTRATION DISTRICT.
All that area in the Provincial District of Auckland bounded towards the east by the ocean, from the Otahu River to the Waihi River; thence towards the south-east by a right line in the direction of Te Aroha Mountain to the Waitawheta River; thence towards the west by that river to a point in line with the southern boundary of the Patuwhao Block; thence towards the south by a right line to and by the said southern boundary to the Waihou River; again towards the west by that river to its intersection by a right line from the confluence of the Piako River with the Waitoa River, drawn in the direction of the confluence of the Ohinemuri River with the Waihou; thence towards the south-east by that line to the said confluence of the Piako River with the Waitoa; again towards the west by the said Piako River to a point due west of the confluence of the Waihou River with the Hikutaia; thence towards the north by a right line to the confluence of the said rivers; thence by the said Hikutaia River to the source nearest to the source of the Otahu River aforesaid; thence by a right line to the source of the said Otahu River; and thence by that river to the ocean.
TAURANGA REGISTRATION DISTRICT.
All that area in the Provincial District of Auckland bounded towards the north-east by the sea, from the mouth of the Waihi River to the Whakatane River; towards the east by the Whakatane River aforesaid to its source; thence by a right line to the source of the Ohiwa or Waikare River, and by that river to Waikaremoana; towards the south generally by that lake to its westernmost corner; thence by a right line to Lake Taupo, at the point where the Waikato River leaves it; thence by the lake to the mouth of the Waihora River; thence generally towards the west by a right line to Atiamuri, on the Waikato River; thence by a right line to Te Whetu Native Settlement; thence by a right line to Poutihi; thence by the Tauranga confiscated boundary-line to Te Aroha Mountain; thence towards the north-west by a right line to the mouth of the Waihi River aforesaid.
And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come into operation on the sixth day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight.
