to the Pakowai River; thence westwards by the said river to
its intersection with the eastern boundary of Section No. 42,
Block IX., Aohonga Survey District, by the last-mentioned
section and by Section No. 817, in the same block and survey
district, to the northernmost corner of Section No. 3, Block
XIV., Puketoi Survey District; thence by lines to include
the last-mentioned section and Sections Nos. 2 and 1 in the
same block and survey district; thence by Sections Nos. 193,
Block XIII., Nos. 192, 161, 186, Block XIV., Nos. 163, 164,
169, 160, 170, and 823, Block XV., and all in the Puketoi
Survey District, to the Taueru River; thence by the eastern
boundaries of the Upper Taueru and Masterton Road Districts
to the point of commencement: excepting therefrom the fol-
lowing parts of sections lying to the south of the dividing
fence between the properties of Messrs. Vallance and
Beetham, namely, part of Section No. 514, Block VII., Ota-
houa Survey District (10 acres); parts of Sections Nos. 547
(23 acres), 558 (195½ acres), 569 (123 acres), 570 (54 acres),
584 (220 acres), 586 (301 acres), all in Block VIII., Otahoua
Survey District, and part of Section No. 600 (63 acres), Block
IX., Rewa Survey District.

I hereby declare that the above special order was duly
made on the 20th June, 1888, in conformity with the pro-
visions of "The Town Districts Act, 1881."

Special Order made by Patea County Council.—Amalga-
mating Patea West and Whenuakura Road Districts.

THE following special order, made by the Patea County
Council, is published in accordance with "The Coun-
ties Act, 1886."

SPECIAL ORDER.
Notice is hereby given that the Patea County Council, at
its meeting held on Thursday, the 7th June, 1888, duly con-
firmed a special order amalgamating the Patea East and
Whenuakura Road Boards, to be called "The Patea East
Road Board."
The boundaries of the said new district are as follows:
Towards the north-east by the confiscation boundary;
towards the south-east by the boundary between the Provin-
cial Districts of Taranaki and Wellington, from the confisca-
tion boundary to the Whenuakura Stream; thence by the
said stream to the ocean; towards the south by the ocean;
and towards the west by the Patea River.
I certify that the above special order has been duly made,
and the requirements of the law fulfilled, by the Patea County
Council, and that the above description of the boundaries of
the said road district has been certified to as correct by the
Chief Surveyor, New Plymouth.

NOTICE is hereby given that THOMAS E. STERICKER, of
425, Kent Street, Sydney, New South Wales, Manager
in the colonies for RECKITT AND SONS, LIMITED, of 150,
Queen Victoria Street, London, England, Starch, Blue, and
Blacklead Manufacturers, has applied, on behalf of the
aforesaid Reckitt and Sons, Limited, to register, under
"The Trade Marks Act, 1866," the trade mark of which
the following is a description:—
Description of Trade Mark.
A white and blue striped wrapper, in the centre of which
is the form of a disc with the words "Reckitt's Pure Blue"
printed therein; also the form of a disc on the right and on
the left of the first-mentioned disc, and printed therein are
the words "Reckitt's Blue," together with commendatory
notices respecting Reckitt's blue.
Nature of the Article to which it is intended such Trade
Mark shall apply.
Blue for laundry purposes.

NELSON LIGHTHOUSE AND BELL BUOY LIGHT.

Wellington, N.Z., 28th June, 1888.
NOTICE is hereby given that, from and after the night
of Monday, the 16th July next, the red sector of light
shown from the Nelson Lighthouse will be extended to the
bearing of N. by E. ¾ E., cutting about 70ft. westerly from
the Bell Buoy.
Notice is also given that a white light will be shown
from the Bell Buoy from the same date for a period of three
months. Masters of vessels are warned not to place any
reliance on this light, especially in bad weather, as, from its
exposed position, it is very likely to be extinguished.
