All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 8 acres 1 rood 27 perches,
more or less, situate in the Gimmerburn District, and being
Section No. 7 of Block IV. of said district. Bounded
towards the north by Section No. 6 of same block, 1215
links; towards the north-east by a road-line, 820 links;
towards the south-west by a road-line, 1370 links; and
towards the west by Section No. 6 of the same block, 520
links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a school-
site.

SOUTHLAND.

All that parcel of land in the Southland Land District,
containing by admeasurement 2 acres, more or less, being
Sections Nos. 44, 45, 46, and 47, Block II., Town of Otatau.
Bounded towards the north-east by Eton Street, 400 links;
towards the south-east by Rochdale Street, 500 links;
towards the south-west by Rye Street, 400 links; and
towards the north-west by Sections Nos. 43 and 48 of
said block, 500 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or
less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the
office of the Chief Surveyor, Invercargill. For police pur-
poses.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this third day of July, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-eight.

THE following special order, made by the Wairarapa
North County Council, is published for general infor-
mation.

SPECIAL ORDER MADE BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
Wairarapa North, STRIKING A SPECIAL RATE UNDER
"THE LOCAL BODIES' LOANS ACT, 1886."

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by
"The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886," the Council of the
County of Wairarapa North resolves as follows:—

That a special rate of one-fourteenth of a 1d. in the pound
be made on the rateable value of all the rateable property
(exclusive of Crown and Native land within the meaning of
"The Crown and Native Lands Rating Act, 1882") within
the area described in the Schedule hereto, as security, in
addition to the receipts from a toll to be established on the
Masterton to Waimata Road, for the payment of interest and
annual charges on a loan of £3,000, under "The Government
Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886," for the purpose of re-
ducing grades and metalling on the said road.

That the said rate shall be an annually-recurring rate for
a period of twenty-six years, and shall be payable at the
office of this Council, in two equal instalments, on the 1st day
of February and the 1st day of August in each and every
year, commencing on the 1st day of February, 1889.

Passed at a special meeting of the Council, this 19th day
of May, 1888. Confirmed this 23rd day of June, 1888.

habitants of the County of Wairarapa North was affixed
hereto by Thomas Mackay, County Chairman, in the presence
of—F. G. Moore, County Clerk.

SCHEDULE.

All that portion of the County of North Wairarapa being
part of the Castlepoint, Wainuioru, and Akitio Ridings, com-
prising one continuous area, and contained within the
following boundaries, that is to say: Commencing at the
south-west corner of Section No. 514, Block VII., Otahoua.
