SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point distant about 7½ chains in an easterly direction from the intersection of the southern boundary of Section 10 with the prolongation in a northerly direction of the western boundary of Section 13; proceeding thence generally in a northerly and north-easterly direction for a distance of about 2 miles 10 chains; passing in, into, through, or over the following lands, namely, the said Section 10, and Sections 9, 8, 7, 97, 94, 91, 90, and 89; including all intervening reserves, places, roads, tracks, rivers, streams, and watercourses; and terminating at a point distant about 5½ chains in a south-westerly direction from the north-east corner of said Section 89; all in the Survey District of Kaipara, Provincial District of Auckland; in the manner delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 15799, a copy of which plan has been deposited in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court, at Auckland.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this third day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight.

Vesting Control of the Lower Pareora Bridge in Geraldine County Council.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section four of “The Public Works Acts Amendment Act, 1887” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor may, upon the terms and conditions in the said section mentioned, by Proclamation publicly notified, direct that any bridge already constructed, or which may hereafter be constructed, over or across any river or arm of the sea respectively, shall, from and after a date to be fixed in such Proclamation, be under the exclusive care, control, and management of such local authority as shall be mentioned in that behalf in such Proclamation:

And whereas it is expedient that the control and management of the bridge described in the Schedule hereto should be vested in the manner hereinafter described:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by the said Act, and of every other power and authority in any-wise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby direct that the bridge mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and known as the Lower Pareora Bridge, shall, from and after the date of the first publication hereof in the Waimate Times newspaper, be under the exclusive care, control, and management of the Geraldine County Council; and I do hereby fix and determine that the Geraldine County Council shall itself provide out of its own funds one-half of the cost of managing and maintaining the said bridge; and that the Waimate County Council shall, on demand in writing from the said Geraldine County Council, pay to the said Council from time to time one-half of the actual cost of managing and maintaining the said bridge.

SCHEDULE.

THE bridge known as the Lower Pareora Bridge, across the Pareora River, on the boundary of the Counties of Geraldine and Waimate, on the Main South Road, as indicated on the plan marked P.W.D. 15720, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured black.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this second day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight.

Proclaiming Petone, County of Hutt, a Borough under “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886.”

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” the Governor is empowered, by Proclamation, to declare any portion of the Colony of New Zealand to be a borough under the said Act from and after a day to be named in such Proclamation:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the district described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby constituted, as from the fifth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight, a borough under the said Act; and I do further proclaim and declare that the name of such borough shall be the Borough of Petone, and that the boundaries thereof shall be those described in the said Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

BOROUGH OF PETONE.

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Wellington situate in the Belmont Survey District, and bounded towards the north by Native land from the north-west corner of Section No. 79, Block XIII., to Section No. 16 (Native reserve); towards the south-east and again towards the north by the said Section No. 16, across the Wellington-Masterton Railway-line and the main Hutt Road and by White’s Road to the Hutt River; towards the east by that river and Section No. 10 to Port Nicholson Harbour; towards the south by high-water mark of the said harbour, crossing the mouth of the Korokoro Stream, to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 19; towards the south-west by a right line to that boundary-line, and thence by the said Section No. 19 to Section No. 78 of Block XIII. aforesaid; and towards the west by the last-mentioned section to the starting-point.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the sixth section of “The Land Act, 1885,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the Proclamation of the seventh day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, so far as it relates to the sections enumerated in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby revoked; and do proclaim and declare that the said sections are hereby withdrawn from the village-homestead special-settlement system.
