Defining the Middle Line of Further Portion of the Kai-para-Waikato Railway from Kaukapakapa to Te Ama-mutu ; Portion of Kaukapakapa Section.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the Kaipara-Waikato Railway from Kaukapakapa to Te Awamutu is one of the railways specified in the First Schedule to “The Public Works Act, 1879,” and which Act is, in the seventh section thereof, declared to be a special Act authorising the construction of such railway; and such railway is unfinished, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same, namely, portion of Kaukapakapa section: Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the aforesaid section seven of “The Public Works Act, 1879,” and by sections one hundred and twenty-nine and one hundred and thirty of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in any-wise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be as defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point in Lot No. 17, Parish of Ararimu, which point of commencement is also the point of termination of the Kaipara section of the railway from Kaukapakapa to Te Awamutu, as described in a Proclamation dated the 1st April, 1887, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 23, of the 7th April, 1887; proceeding thence generally in a northerly direction for a distance of about 1 miles 20 chains; passing in, through, or over the following lands, namely, the said Lot 17, and lands in the Parish of Kaukapakapa as follows, namely, Honey’s claim, and Sections 11, 12, 13, 10; including all intervening reserves, places, roads, tracks, rivers, streams, and watercourses; and terminating at a point distant about 7½ chains in an easterly direction from the intersection of the southern boundary of said Section 10, with the prolongation in a northerly direction of the western boundary of said Section 13: all in the Survey District of Kaipara, Provincial District of Auckland; in the manner delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 15782, a copy of which plan has been deposited in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Auckland.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fourth day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the line of railway from Kaukapakapa northwards is one of the railways specified in the Schedule to “The Railways Authorisation and Management Act, 1886,” and which Act is, in the third section thereof, declared to be a special Act authorising the construction of such railway; and such railway is unfinished, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a portion of the same: Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the aforesaid section three of “The Railways Authorisation and Management Act, 1886,” and by sections one hundred and twenty-nine and one hundred and thirty of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said portion of the said railway shall be as defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

ERRATA.—In New Zealand Gazette No. 36, of the 28th June, 1888, page 710, under appointment and promotion of Volunteer officers, for “Lieutenant Charles Magnus Mouat, Dunedin Engineers, date of commission, 7th March, 1887,” read “date of commission, 7th March, 1888”; and for “Lieutenant John McIndoe, from the West Taieri Volunteers, to be Quartermaster, 1st Battalion Otago Rifle Volunteers,” read “Lieutenant John McIndoe, from Caversham Rifle Volunteers, to be Quartermaster, 1st Battalion Otago Rifle Volunteers.”
