Rural Lands in the Hawke’s Bay District open for Sale
or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the third section of “The Land
Act Amendment Act, 1887” (hereinafter termed “the said
Act”), I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of
the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is
provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated
in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection,
after the lapse of a period of forty-five days from the date of
the first public notification hereof, in the manner and upon
the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price
per acre respectively set opposite such land in the said
Schedule.

These lands are about ten miles from Ormond, and twenty-three from Gisborne; coach-road more than half the distance, the rest a good horse-track. The surface is broken, but with flats suitable for homestead and agricultural purposes. Section 15 is half covered with light bush, the rest with fern, tutu, and scrub. Section 16, two-thirds covered with light bush. Soil good on both sections.

These lands are about twenty-five miles from Gisborne, situated on or close to the main road to Wairoa. Surface broken; covered with fern and scrub; light bush in the gullies; soil good, and well watered; suitable for grazing purposes, with small patches of flat for homesteads.
Section 104 is hilly, and well watered, with plenty of large bush towards the southern end.

Generally covered with high fern and tutu, with patches of light bush in the gullies. Surface broken; small flats along the streams; soil light, but of fair quality.
About fifteen miles from Gisborne, skirting the main road to Wairoa.

IN pursuance of the sixth section of “The Land Act, 1885,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby revoke so much of a certain notification published at page one thousand two hundred and twelve of the New Zealand Gazette No. 84, dated the twenty-ninth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight, as relates to the sections of land described in the Schedule hereto.

Vaccination Stations appointed, Woodville and Auckland Districts.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Public Health Act, 1876,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the several places mentioned in the second column of the Schedule hereto as and to be the places at which the Public Vaccinators appointed for the respective districts mentioned in the first column of the said Schedule shall attend for the performance of vaccination, as required by the said Act; and I do hereby give notice that each such Public Vaccinator will attend at the respective places aforesaid, for the purpose of performing such vaccination, on the days and at the hours set forth in the third column of the said Schedule opposite the name of each such place; and, further, that at each such place as last aforesaid the Public Vaccinator will attend, for the purpose of inspecting the progress of such vaccination in the persons so vaccinated, on the days and at the hours respectively set forth in the fourth column of the said Schedule opposite the name of each such place.
