Extending Time for holding Special Meeting, Coromandel County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of June, 1888.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and eighty-four of “The Counties Act, 1886,” it is enacted that each County Council shall hold a special meeting to consider the balance-sheet and statements of county accounts during the month of May in each year: And whereas the balance-sheet and statement of accounts of the County of Coromandel were not forwarded to the Chairman of the County Council by the Auditor until after the thirty-first day of May last past, and have not been considered by the Coromandel County Council, and it is therefore expedient to extend the time within which a special meeting for the aforesaid purpose can be held:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers vested in him by the said “Counties Act, 1886,” and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby extend the time for holding a special meeting of the Coromandel County Council for the purpose of considering the balance-sheet and statement of accounts of the county, and doth declare that the said special meeting may be held on or before the fourteenth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight.

Terms and Conditions of Sale of Small-farm Allotments in the Mount Hyde Survey District, Otago Land District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of June, 1888.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and sixty-seventh section of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is enacted that the Governor in Council may fix the terms and conditions upon which the lands comprised in any village settlement shall be disposed of, and the mode of payment for the same:

And whereas His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand has, by Proclamation, set apart the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto for sale as a village settlement:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the hereinbefore in part recited Act, and by and with the advice of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby fix the following terms and conditions upon which the said village settlement shall be disposed of, and the mode of payment for the same, that is to say,—

  1. The lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be disposed of as small-farm allotments upon deferred payments.

  2. The day upon which the lands shall be open for application shall be Wednesday, the twenty-fifth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight, at the Land Office, Dunedin.

  3. The lands will be disposed of by sale upon deferred payments, and shall be subject to the provisions relating to suburban lands of Part III. of “The Land Act, 1885.”

  4. No person shall be allowed to acquire more than one section.

  5. The prices stated in the Schedule hereto shall be the prices at which the lands shall be open for application.

  6. If there should be more than one application for any allotment, the right to occupy the same shall be determined by lot amongst the applicants.

  7. Each applicant for a section in the Schedule will be required to make the declaration prescribed by section one hundred and thirteen of “The Land Act, 1885,” and shall at the time of application deposit with the Receiver of Land Revenue for the Otago Land District one-tenth of the price of the allotment. Such payment shall be deemed to be a discharge of the license-fee for the six months due on the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine.

  8. The purchaser of any land described in the Schedule, upon the full payment of the purchase-money, and also the fulfilment of the terms and conditions prescribed by “The Land Act, 1885,” relating to land on deferred payments, will be entitled to his Crown grant, to be issued in the usual way upon payment of the fees prescribed by law.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this first day of May, 1888.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a public work authorised to be constructed by the Government, to wit, the Cuvier Island Lighthouse:

And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native owners:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works, Act, 1882,” and the amendments thereof, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the Government work known as the Cuvier Island Light-house shall and may be constructed on the parcel of land more particularly mentioned in the Schedule hereto.
