of Section No. 19735, Hawkins Survey District, and proceeding generally easterly along the north-western boundary-line of that section for a distance of about 26 chains; thence intersecting the said section and Reserve No. 727, a public road, Section No. 8894, a public road, Sections Nos. 8866 and 8989, Rolleston Survey District, a public road, Section No. 6721, a public road, Sections Nos. 8954, 15191, 6294, 6270, and 6269 to the northern boundary-line of the last-mentioned section; thence along the northern boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 6269 aforesaid and 6283 to the north-eastern corner of the latter section; thence along the southern side of Halkett's Road to the Sandy Knolls Road.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight.

Proclaiming the Taking and Laying-off of a Road over Lands in the Wellington Provincial District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of all powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim that the road described in the Schedule hereto has been duly taken and laid off through the lands specified in the said Schedule.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that irregular piece of land of a general width of not less than 100 links, situate in Blocks IX. and XIII., Mangawhero Survey District, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and containing by admeasurement 20 acres, more or less, the centre of which commences at a point marked A on the southern boundary of the Waipuna-Puharakeke Block, and distant about 560 links from its south-western corner, and proceeds thence generally in a northerly direction through the Waipuna-Puharakeke Block and the Puehurangi Block to a point marked B on the northern boundary of the last-named block, and distant about 50 links from its north-west corner: as the same piece of land is more particularly delineated on the plan marked S.O. 2811/8, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington.

Altering Boundaries of Districts under “The Supreme Court Act, 1882.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of April, 1888.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section twenty of “The Supreme Court Act, 1882” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor in Council may from time to time, for the purposes of the said Act, divide the colony into districts, and alter the limits of such districts from time to time as occasion may require:

And whereas by an Order in Council, bearing date the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, and made under the provisions of the said Act, the colony was divided into districts, and the limits of such districts therein defined: And whereas it is expedient to alter the limits of the Nelson and Westland Districts so defined as aforesaid:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby alter the limits of the Nelson and Westland Districts so defined as aforesaid, and doth hereby declare that, from and after the first day of May next, the limits of the said districts shall, for the purposes of the said Act, be those respectively described in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE.

NELSON.

ALL that area bounded towards the north and east generally by the sea; towards the south generally by the Clarence River to Lake Tennyson; thence by a right line to Mount Humboldt; thence by the Westland District hereinafter described; and towards the west by the sea.

WESTLAND.

All that area bounded towards the north generally by the Razorback Creek to its source; thence by a right line to and by the summit of the Paparoa Range over Mount Faraday to the Buller River; thence by that river to its confluence with the Inangahua; thence by a right line to a point on the summit of the Brunner Range, near the source of Dee Creek; thence by the summit of that range to the Buller River; thence by a right line to Mount Humboldt; towards the south-east by the summit of the Spencer Mountains and Southern Alps to Mount Aspiring; thence towards the south by a right line to the mouth of the Awarua River; and towards the north-west by the sea.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of April, 1888.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS under the provisions of “The Town Districts Act, 1881” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), elections were held on the fifteenth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, and on the first day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, of members of the Board of Commissioners for the Alexandra Town District constituted under the said Act: And whereas the names of the Commissioners elected as aforesaid were not publicly notified by the Returning Officer conducting such elections in terms of section twenty-one of the said Act, but such elections were in all other respects regularly conducted:

And whereas it appears expedient to make the notification hereinafter set forth:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section twenty-six of the said Act, doth hereby notify and declare that at the elections duly held at Alexandra on the fifteenth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, and on the first day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, the following persons were elected members of the Alexandra Town Board, namely:—

JOHN AUBIN, of Alexandra.
ALEXANDER GRANT, of Alexandra.
JOHN DOUGLAS HILL, of Alexandra.
ALFRED SMITH, of Alexandra.
MATHIAS ASMUSS, of Alexandra.
