THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

south-western and north-western boundary-lines of Section No. 4, and the north-western boundary-line of Section No. 7, all of Wisenhaven Run aforesaid, to Ward’s Pass; thence by the summit of the watershed between the Wairau River and Tasman Bay to the source of the Pelorus River; thence by that river to its confluence with the Heringa River; thence by that river to its source; thence by a right line to Saddle Hill; thence by the summit of the watershed between the Pelorus and Tasman Bay to Mount McLaren; and thence by a right line to the head of Croiselles Harbour: including D’Urville Island, Arapawa Island, and Forsyth and Chetwode Islands, and all islands adjacent thereto; excluding therefrom the Omaka Sheep District, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 68, 20th October, 1887: and shall comprise the following subdivisions:—
Picton Subdivision.
Bounded generally towards the west, north-east, and south-east by the sea from the head of Croiselles Harbour to White’s Bay at the north-east corner of the Native reserve; towards the south-east generally by a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 37, Picton Suburban; thence by the northern boundary of that section produced to the Tuamarina River; thence by the northern boundary of the Raydale Run to the north-western corner of that run; thence by a right line to the north-western corner of Section No. 9, Okaramio Valley; thence by a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 72, Havelock Suburban; thence by a right-line to the south-west corner of Section No. 85, Havelock Suburban; thence by the summit of the watershed between the Atuhaua Stream and the Kaituna River to the watershed between the Wairau and Pelorus Valleys, and by the summit of that watershed to the watershed between the Wairau River and Blind Bay; thence generally towards the north-west by the last-mentioned watershed to the source of the Pelorus River; thence by that river to its confluence with the Heringa River; thence by that river to its source; thence by a right line to Saddle Hill; thence by the summit of the watershed between the Pelorus and Tasman Bay to Mount McLaren; and thence by a right line to the head of Croiselles Harbour: including D’Urville Island, Arapawa Island, and Forsyth and Chetwode Islands, and all islands adjacent thereto.
Blenheim Subdivision.
Bounded towards the north generally by the Picton Subdivision, hereinbefore described; towards the east by the sea; towards the south-east by the Awatere River from its mouth to a point on Section No. 30, Wakefield Downs (being the south-western corner of the Vernon Run); thence by a right line to the south-western corner of Section No. 29, Wakefield Downs; thence by the eastern side of the road between Sections Nos. 33 and 29, Wakefield Downs, and Sections Nos. 4 and 2, Block I., District of Awatere, to the Utawai Stream; thence by the Utawai Stream to the northern boundary of Section No. 2, Block I., District of Awatere; thence along that boundary to Maxwell Pass Stream; thence by the Maxwell Pass Stream to the watershed; thence by a tributary of the Taylor River to that river at the base of a hill called the “Maori;” thence by the northern boundaries of the Dungree and Blairich Runs to the summit of the dividing range between the Awatere and Wairau Valleys to Langridge Run No. 2; thence by the western boundary of that run to the summit of the range; thence by the said summit to Saxton’s Pass; thence towards the south-west by a right line in the direction of Tophouse to the Wairau River, and by that river to the south-western boundary-line of Section No. 6, Wisenhaven Run; and towards the west generally by the south-western and north-western boundary-lines of the said Section No. 6, the north-western boundary-line of Section No. 3, the south-western and north-western boundary-lines of Section No. 4, and the north-western boundary-line of Section No. 7, all of Wisenhaven Run aforesaid, to Ward’s Pass; thence by the summit of the watershed between the Wairau River and Tasman Bay to the Picton Subdivision aforesaid: excluding therefrom the Omaka Sheep District, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 68, 20th October, 1887.
Awatere Subdivision.
Bounded towards the north-west by the Blenheim Subdivision, hereinbefore described, from Saxton’s Pass to the mouth of the Awatere River; thence towards the east by the sea to the mouth of the Kekerangu River; thence towards the south generally by that river and the Benmore Stream to its source; thence by a tributary of the River Ure to the southern boundary of the Chalk Range Run; thence by the southern boundary of the Chalk Range Run to the Upton Fells Run; thence by the southern boundary of Upton Fells Run to Upton Fells Run No. 2; thence by the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Upton Fells Run No. 2 to Section No. 11, on the Upton Fells Run; thence by that section to the eastern boundary of the Camden Run No. 2; thence by that boundary and the southern boundaries of Camden Run No. 2 to the summit of the dividing range between the Awatere and Clarence Valleys; thence by that summit to the eastern boundary-fence of the Molesworth Run; and thence by that fence to Saxton’s Pass, the starting-point.
Kaikoura Subdivision.
Bounded towards the north-west by the Awatere Subdivision, hereinbefore described; towards the east by the sea; and towards the south-west generally by the Conway River to the boundary-fence between the Warden and Cloudy Range Runs; thence by that fence to the Clarence River; thence by that river to the eastern boundary-fence of the Molesworth Run; and thence by that fence to Awatere Subdivision aforesaid.
AMURI SHEEP DISTRICT.
All that area in the Provincial Districts of Nelson and Marlborough bounded towards the north-east generally by the Marlborough Sheep District, hereinbefore described; towards the east by the sea; towards the south by the Waiau-ua or Dillon River to its confluence with the Steyning Creek; thence by the northern boundary of the St. Andrew’s Run to the Boyle River; thence by that river to its source at Travers Peak; and towards the north-west by the summit of the Spencer Mountains and St. Arnaud Range to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section No. 6, Wisenhaven Run; and thence by a right line to that section.
CANTERBURY SHEEP DISTRICT.
All that area in the Provincial Districts of Nelson, Canterbury, and Westland bounded towards the north-east by the right bank of the Grey River from its mouth to its confluence with the Arnold River; thence by the right bank of that river to Lake Brunner; thence by a right line to the saddle between the Teremakau and Hurunui Rivers; thence towards the north-west by the summit of the watershed over Mount Stapp, Mount Ajax, and Mount Boscawen to Travers Peak; thence again towards the north-east by the Amuri Sheep District, hereinbefore described; towards the east by the sea to the mouth of the Waitaki River; towards the south by the right bank of that river to its confluence with the Ohau River; thence by the right bank of that river to Lake Ohau; thence by the northern and eastern shore of that lake to the Dobson River; thence by the right bank of that river to its source in the Southern Alps; thence by the summit of the Southern Alps to Mount Aspiring; thence by a right line to the mouth of the Awarua River; and towards the west by the sea to the mouth of the Grey River, the starting-point: and shall comprise the following subdivisions:—
Westland Subdivision.
Bounded towards the north by the right bank of the Grey River from its mouth to its junction with the Arnold River; thence by the right bank of that river to Lake Brunner; thence by a right line to the saddle at the source of the Hurunui and Teremakau Rivers; towards the south-east by lines from peak to peak along the summit of the Southern Alps to Mount Aspiring; thence towards the south by a right line to the mouth of the Awarua River; and towards the west by the sea to the mouth of the Grey River, the starting-point.
Waiau Subdivision.
Bounded towards the north-west by the summit of the range over Mount Stapp, Mount Ajax, and Mount Boscawen from Hurunui Pass to Travers Peak; thence towards the north-east by the Amuri Sheep District, hereinbefore described, to the boundary-fence between the St. Leonards Run and Culverden and Balmoral Runs; thence towards the east by that fence to the Hurunui River at or near the confluence of the Pahau River; thence towards the south by the Hurunui River to its source at Hurunui Pass, the starting-point.
Northern Subdivision.
Bounded towards the north generally by the Waiau Subdivision, hereinbefore described, from Hurunui Pass to the Waiau-ua or Dillon River; and thence by the left bank of that river to the sea; towards the east by the sea; towards the south by the right bank of the Waimakariri River; and towards the west by the Westland Subdivision, hereinbefore described, to the starting-point.
Christchurch Subdivision.
Bounded towards the north-east generally by the Waimakariri River from its source in the Southern Alps to the sea; towards the east and south by the sea to the mouth of the Rakaia River; towards the south-west by the Rakaia River to its source in the Southern Alps; and towards the north-west by the summit of the Southern Alps to the starting-point.
Ashburton Subdivision.
Bounded towards the north-east by the Christchurch Subdivision, hereinbefore described, from the source of
