Sheriffs’ Districts abolished and defined.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on me by “The Sheriffs Act, 1883,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish, as from the second day of March next, the Sheriff’s District of Patea, as the same was described by a Proclamation dated the sixth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the seventh day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five; and in further exercise of the said powers and authorities I do hereby alter and redefine the boundaries of the Sheriff’s District of Taranaki and the Sheriff’s District of Wanganui and Rangitikei, and do proclaim and declare that the same shall, from and after the said second day of March next, be those described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
THE SHERIFF’S DISTRICT OF TARANAKI.
ALL that area bounded towards the north by the Mokau River from the sea to its source; towards the south-east by a right line to a point on the Wanganui River where it is intersected by the thirty-ninth parallel of south latitude; thence by the Wanganui River to a point bearing north 39° 39′ 45″ east (magnetic) from the mouth of the Patea River; thence by a right line to the mouth of that river; and towards the south-west, west, and north-west by the sea to the starting-point.
THE SHERIFF’S DISTRICT OF WANGANUI AND RANGITIKEI.
All that area bounded towards the north by the Provincial District of Auckland; towards the east by the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay; towards the south by the Manawatu River; towards the south-west by the sea; and towards the north-west by the Taranaki District, hereinbefore described.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this first day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is expedient that the Marlborough, Amuri, and Canterbury Sheep Districts, as at present constituted, should be altered and reconstituted in the manner hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the eighth section of “The Sheep Act, 1878,” do hereby constitute anew the Marlborough, Amuri, and Canterbury Sheep Districts, and the subdivisions thereof respectively; and I do hereby declare that, for the purposes of the said Act, the said districts and the subdivisions thereof shall hereafter be as the same are described in the Schedule hereto, including in such districts or subdivisions all boroughs within the territorial area comprised within the external boundaries of any such district or subdivision as defined in the said Schedule, although such boroughs do not actually form part of any county therein mentioned; and that such districts and subdivisions shall be known by the names set over each such district and subdivision respectively in the said Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
MARLBOROUGH SHEEP DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Provincial Districts of Marlborough and Nelson bounded generally towards the west, north-east, and east by the ocean from the head of Croiselles Harbour to the mouth of the Conway River; towards the south-west generally by that river to the boundary-fence between the Warden and Cloudy Range Runs; thence by that fence to the Clarence River; thence by that river to the eastern boundary-fence of the Molesworth Run; thence by that fence to Saxton Pass; thence by a right line in the direction of Tophouse to the Wairau River, and by that river to the south-western boundary-line of Section No. 6, Wisenhaven Run; and again towards the west generally by the south-western and north-western boundary-lines of the said Section No. 6, the north-western boundary-line of Section No. 3, the
