THE following notice, forwarded by the Clerk of the Rangitikei County Council, is published in accordance with “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

PROPOSAL to apply for a Loan of £1,000, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” for Expenditure in opening and forming the Ngei Line of Road.
I CERTIFY the following to be the result of the poll taken herein, at the Silver Hope Schoolhouse, on Monday, the 16th January, 1888:—
Number of ratepayers on special roll, 8; representing 12 votes. Number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal, 6; representing 10 votes. Number of ratepayers who voted against the proposal, 2; representing 2 votes.
As a majority of the ratepayers voted in favour of the proposal, and the number so voting represent more than one-half the votes exercisable by the whole of the ratepayers, I declare the proposal to be carried.

THE following is the result of a poll taken in the Eketauna Road Board Office, on the 16th February, 1888, on a proposal to raise a loan of £2,100, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” for formation, bridges, and metalling on the Mangaone Valley, Hawera and Tawataia Roads:—
Total number of pollable votes, 31. Fifteen persons, exercising 15 votes, voted for the proposal; against, none; neuter, 16 persons, entitled to 16 votes.
I therefore declare the proposal to be rejected.

THE following notice, forwarded by the Secretary to the Manawatu Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886.”

NOTICE of the result of a poll taken on the 16th day of February, 1888, on a proposal by the Manawatu Road Board to borrow the sum of £985 for works on Roberts’s Line, Kelvin Grove, and Palmerston–Bunnythorpe Railway-line Roads:—
Number of ratepayers entitled to vote, 37; voters for the proposal, 25; voters against the proposal, 1; ratepayers not voting, 11: majority in favour, 13. Number of votes that could be exercised, 41; votes for the proposal, 27; votes against the proposal, 1; votes not recorded, 13: majority in favour, 13.
As the majority in number of the ratepayers entitled to vote at the above poll have voted in favour of the proposal, and the number so voting are entitled to more than half the number of votes that could be exercised, I hereby declare the proposal carried.

SPECIAL ORDER, made by the Council of the County of Wairarapa North, annexing a portion of the Castlepoint Road District to the Alfredton Road District.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by “The Counties Act, 1886,” and with the consent of the Boards of the Castlepoint and Alfredton Road Districts, the Council of the County of Wairarapa North resolves as follows:—
That all that portion of the Castlepoint Road District known as the Tiraumea Station, and contained within the following boundaries, that is to say,—commencing at the north-west corner of Section No. 50, Block VII., Puketoi Survey District, the boundary proceeds in an easterly direction along the northern boundary of said section, the western and northern boundaries of Section No. 20, the western and north-eastern boundaries of Section No. 48 to the north-east corner of said Section No. 48, all in Block VII.; thence southerly along north-western and south-western boundaries of Section No. 23, and along eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 27, 26, and 46, all in Block VIII.; thence along other portion of eastern boundary of said Section No. 46, Block XII., to its junction with the Waitawhiti Stream; thence along said stream to the south-east corner of Section No. 14, Block XI.; thence southerly and westerly along said stream to its confluence with the Tiraumea River; thence northerly along the centre of the said river to the south-eastern corner of Section No. 51; thence along southern and western boundaries of said Section No. 51, and along western boundary of Section No. 50, all in Block VII., Puketoi Survey District, to the starting-point—be and the same is hereby annexed to the Alfredton Road District.
That the portion of the eastern boundaries of the Alfredton Road District, and of the Tiraumea Subdivision thereof, which lie between the north-west corner of Section No. 50, Block VII., Puketoi Survey District, and the north-east corner of Section No. 127, Block XI., same survey district, be and they are hereby amended as follows: Commencing at the north-west corner of Section No. 50, Block VII.; bounded towards the north by the northern boundary of said Section No. 50, the western and northern boundaries of Section No. 20, the western and north-eastern boundaries of Section No. 48 of the same block to the easternmost corner of the last-named section; thence towards the east by Sections Nos. 23, 28, and 29, Block VIII., by Sections Nos. 30, 31, Block XII., to the intersection of the western boundary of the last-named section with the Waitawhiti Stream, same block; by said stream to the south-east corner of Section No. 14, Block XI.; thence towards the south by the said stream to the north-east corner of Section No. 127, Block XI.; all in the Puketoi Survey District.
That the portion of the boundaries of the Castlepoint Road District, and of Subdivision No. 4 thereof, between the north-west corner of Section No. 50, Block VII., and the north-east corner of Section No. 127, Block XI., both in the Puketoi Survey District, be and they are hereby amended as follows: Commencing at the north-west corner of Section No. 50, Block VII.; bounded towards the west by the northern boundary of said Section No. 50, the western and northern boundaries of Section No. 20, the western and north-eastern boundaries of Section No. 48, all in Block VII., Puketoi Survey District; thence by the north-western and south-western boundaries of Section No. 23, by the western boundaries of Sections Nos. 28 and 29, Block VIII.; thence by the western boundary of Section No. 30 and western boundary of Section No. 31 to its intersection with the Waitawhiti Stream, Block XII.; thence by the said stream
