Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works, Act, 1882,” and the amendments thereof, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the Government work known as the North Island Main Trunk Railway, from a point at or near Marton to Te Awamutu, via Murimotu, Taumarunui, and the Ongaruhē River Valley, shall and may be constructed on or through the parcels of land more particularly mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

SHANLY, Aërated Water Manufacturer, of Auckland, New Zealand, to register, under “The Trade Marks Act, 1866,” the trade mark of which the following is a description:—

Description of Trade Mark.

The name “E. Shanly’s Mineral Waters” embossed on the outside of the bottle, with a space of about three inches between the words “E. Shanly’s” and “Mineral Waters.”

NOTICE is hereby given that EDWARD WATERS, Patent Agent, of Melbourne, in the Colony of Victoria, has applied, on behalf of CONNELL, HOGARTH, AND COMPANY, of No. 67, Flinders Street West, in the City of Melbourne aforesaid, Merchants, to register, under “The Trade Marks Act, 1866,” the trade mark of which the following is a description:—

Description of Trade Mark.

An oblong label intended to be used as a wrapper for packages of tea. It is divided into four compartments, the first of which contains a representation of the world on Mercator’s projection, the words “The World” appearing in the left-hand corner of the compartment. In the centre of the second compartment is a diamond, and superimposed upon same is a scalloped border surrounding a monogram composed of the letters and abbreviations “C. & C. T. Co.,” the groundwork of the compartment being filled up with the leaves and flowers of the tea-plant. In the upper portion of the compartment is a scroll bearing the words and abbreviation “China & Colonial;” and on another scroll at the bottom is the word and abbreviation “Tea Co.” The third compartment contains a representation of a river scene, with Chinese junks in the foreground, battlements on the edge of the river, and cultivated hills behind. The fourth compartment contains a balloon-shaped device bearing the words “The World Blend.” On either side of this device are the leaves and flowers of the tea-plant.

Nature of the Article to which it is intended such Trade Mark shall apply.
