HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint
Tuesday, the 22nd day of February, 1887, to be the
time, and the Courthouse, Waipawa, to be the place, for
holding the first election of five Trustees of the Hawke's Bay
Rabbit District, as constituted under “The Rabbit Nuisance
Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1886;” also to appoint Monday,
the 28th day of February, 1887, at 11 o'clock in the forenoon,
to be the time, and the said Courthouse, Waipawa, to be the
place, at which the first meeting of the Trustees of the said
district shall be held.

THAT this Council resolve to pass a special order to levy
special rates, in terms of the 24th section of “The Local
Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” and that such special rates shall
be payable at intervals of twelve months.
I hereby certify that the above special order has been duly
made and confirmed according to law.

THE following notices of proposed loans, received from
the Chairman of the Council of the County of
Geraldine, are published for general information.

NOTICE is hereby given that the poll of the ratepayers of
the Seadown Water-supply District, taken on the 18th
day of January, 1887, on the proposal of the Geraldine
County Council to raise the sum of £2,500 by way of loan,
under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,”
for the purpose of constructing irrigation works within that
part of the Geraldine County known as the Seadown Water-
supply District, resulted as follows :—
For the proposal .. 103 votes.
Against the proposal .. None.
And, as a majority in number of the ratepayers did not vote
in favour of the proposal, I hereby declare the said proposal
to be rejected.
Dated this 25th day of January, 1887.
