Land and Deeds Registration District of Wellington.
JAMES FRAME MCBETH, Postmaster, Wanganui, to be District Agent at Wanganui.
Land and Deeds Registration District of Canterbury.
EDMUND COOK, Postmaster, Timaru, to be District Agent at Timaru.
The Post Offices at Wanganui and Timaru respectively are hereby appointed as the offices of the above-named Agents respectively, and as the places for reception of deeds and instruments under the said Act.
Volunteer Corps disbanded.

*Special Order made by Ashburton County Council.—Adopt-
ing, partially, "Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886."

THE following special order, made by the Council of the County of Ashburton, is published for general information.

SPECIAL ORDER.
RESOLVED, That this Council do make a special order adopt-
ing "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886," and that such special order be as follows, that is to say,—
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1866," "The Counties Act, 1876," and the several Acts amending the same, the County Council of the County of Ashburton doth hereby adopt the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886." Provided always that the operation of the said Act shall be limited to a loan of £3,500, which this Council proposes to borrow from the Government under the provisions of "The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886," for the purpose of constructing a tramway from the Mount Somers Railway-station to the Mount Somers Coal-pit, near the mouth of the River Stour.
Resolved, further, that this special order shall take effect immediately upon the making thereof.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and inhabitants of the County of Ashburton was hereby affixed, by the authority of the County Council of the said county, on the 14th day of (L.S.) January, 1887, by William Campbell Walker, Chairman of the said Council, in the presence of—F. Mainwaring, Clerk of the Ashburton County Council, Ashburton.
