said Waiau River; thence towards the West by the last-mentioned river to its confluence with the River Henry; thence again towards the South-west and towards the North-west generally by the southern, western, and north-western boundaries of Section No. 16, Square 183, Dillon Survey District, the western boundary-line of Section No. 14, Square 183, Maling Survey District, the south-western boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 15 and 9, Square 183, and the western boundary-line of the last-mentioned section; again towards the North-east by the north-eastern boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 9 and 15 aforesaid; thence again towards the North-west generally by the north-western and northern boundary-lines of Section No. 12, the northern and north-eastern boundary-lines of Section No. 11, and the north-eastern boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 10A and 10, Square 103, Maling Survey District; thence by lines so as to include Runs Nos. 99 and 106 to Lake Tennyson; thence by that lake, the northern boundary-line of Run No. 1, Square 72, Alma Survey District, and the north-western and north-eastern boundary-lines of Section No. 1, Square 71, to Serpentine Creek; thence by the right bank of that creek to its source; thence by a straight line to the source of the Wairau River; thence by the left bank of the said Wairau River to a reserve of 13,000 acres in the Wairau Survey District; thence by the western, north-western, north-eastern, and eastern boundary-lines of that reserve to Run No. 3, Square 70, Wairau Survey District aforesaid; and thence by the north-western boundary-lines of Runs Nos. 3 aforesaid and 4 to the boundary between the Provincial Districts of Nelson and Marlborough; thence again towards the South-west by the Provincial District of Nelson to the Wairau River; thence again towards the South-east by the said Wairau River to the south-western boundary-line of Section No. 6, Wiesenhaven Run; thence again towards the South-west and North-west by the south-western and north-western boundary-lines of the said Section No. 6, the north-western boundary-line of Section No. 3, the south-western and north-western boundary-lines of Section No. 4, and the north-western boundary-line of Section No. 7, all of Wiesenhaven Run aforesaid, to Ward’s Pass; thence by the summit of the watershed between the Wairau River and Tasman Bay to the source of the Pelorus River; thence by that river to its confluence with the Heringa River; thence by that river to its source; thence by a right line to Saddle Hill; thence by the summit of the watershed between the Pelorus and Tasman Bay to Mount McLaren; and thence by a right line to the head of Croiselles Harbour: including D’Urville Island, Arapawa Island, and Forsyth and Chetwode Islands, and all islands adjacent thereto; excluding therefrom the Omaka Sheep District; and shall comprise the following subdivisions:—
The Picton Subdivision.
Bounded generally towards the West, North-east, and South-east by the sea from the head of Croiselles Harbour to White’s Bay at the north-east corner of the Native reserve; towards the South-east generally by a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 37, Picton Suburban; thence by the northern boundary of that section produced to the Tuamarina River; thence by the northern boundary of the Raydale Run to the north-western corner of that run; thence by a right line to the north-western corner of Section No. 9, Okaramio Valley; thence by a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 72, Havelock Suburban; thence by a right line to the south-west corner of Section No. 85, Havelock Suburban; thence by the summit of the watershed between the Atuhaua Stream and the Kaituna River to the watershed between the Wairau and Pelorus Valleys, and by the summit of that watershed to the watershed between the Wairau River and Blind Bay; thence generally towards the north-west by the Nelson Sheep District to the head of Croiselles Harbour, the starting-point: including D’Urville Island, Arapawa Island, and Forsyth and Chetwode Islands.
The Blenheim Subdivision.
Bounded towards the East by the sea from the mouth of the Awatere River to the north-east corner of Native reserve at White’s Bay; towards the North by a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 37, Picton Suburban; thence by the northern boundary of that section produced to the Tuamarina River; thence by the northern boundary of the Raydale Run to the north-western corner of that run; thence by a right line to the north-western corner of Section No. 9, Okaramio Valley; thence by a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 72, Havelock Suburban; thence by a right line to the south-west corner of Section No. 85, Havelock Suburban; thence by the watershed between the Atuhaua Stream and the Kaituna River to the watershed between the Wairau and Pelorus Valleys, and by that watershed to the watershed between the Wairau River and Blind Bay; towards the North-west by that watershed over Mount Rintoul to Ward’s Pass; thence along the northern and western boundaries of Sections Nos. 7, 4, and 3, Wiesen-
haven Run, known as the “Red Hills Reserve,” to the Wairau River; thence northerly along the right bank of that river to a point in line with Tophouse and Barefell Pass; towards the West by a right line from thence to the Awatere Subdivision, hereinafter described; and towards the South by the said Awatere Subdivision to the mouth of the Awatere River, the starting-point: excluding therefrom the Omaka Sheep District.
The Awatere Subdivision.
Bounded towards the East by the sea from the mouth of the Kekerangu River to the mouth of the Awatere River; thence on the North and West by the Awatere River from its mouth to a point on Section No. 30, Wakefield Downs (being the south-western corner of the Vernon Run); thence by a right line to the south-western corner of Section No. 29, Wakefield Downs; thence by the eastern side of the road between Sections Nos. 33 and 29, Wakefield Downs, and Sections Nos. 4 and 2 of Block I., District of Awatere, to the Utawai Stream; thence by the Utawai Stream to the northern boundary of Section No. 2 of Block I., District of Awatere; thence along that boundary to Maxwell Pass Stream; thence by the Maxwell Pass Stream to the watershed; thence by a tributary of the Taylor River to the Taylor River at the base of a hill called the “Maori;” thence by the northern boundaries of the Dungree and Blairich Runs to the summit of the dividing range between the Awatere and Wairau Valleys to Langridge Run No. 2; thence by the western boundary of that run to the summit of the range; thence by the said summit to Saxon’s Pass; thence by the stream running out of Saxon’s Pass to the Acheron River; thence by that river to the junction of the Saxon; thence by the Saxon for a distance of 210 chains; thence by a line due east and west to intersect a right line drawn from Tophouse to Barefell Pass; thence by part of said line to Barefell Pass; thence by the Guide River to its confluence with the Acheron River; thence by that river to its confluence with the Clarence River; thence towards the South by a right line to a point on the Clarence River where a right line drawn from the junction of the Acheron and Clarence Rivers to the source of the River Conway intersects it; thence towards the South-east by the Kaikoura Subdivision, hereinafter described, to the mouth of the Kekerangu River, the starting-point.
The Kaikoura Subdivision.
Bounded towards the East by the sea from the mouth of the River Conway to the mouth of the River Kekerangu; thence North by the River Kekerangu to the junction of Benmore Stream; thence by that stream to its source; thence by a tributary of the River Ure to the southern boundary of the Chalk Range Run; thence by the southern boundary of the Chalk Range Run to the Upton Fells Run; thence by the southern boundary of Upton Fells Run to Upton Fells Run No. 2; thence by the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Upton Fells Run No. 2 to Section No. 11 on the Upton Fells Run; thence by that section to the eastern boundary of the Camden Run No. 2; thence by that boundary and the southern boundaries of Camden Run No. 2 to the summit of the dividing range between the Awatere and Clarence Valleys; thence on the West by a line along the said summit to Lake McRae Run; thence by the eastern boundaries of that run to a point where a right line drawn from the junction of the Acheron and Clarence Rivers to where the source of the Conway River intersects it; thence by a right line to the source of the River Conway; and thence by the right bank of that river to its mouth, the starting-point.
The Hopefield Subdivision.
All that area in the Provincial District of Nelson bounded by a line commencing at the confluence of the Rivers Boyle and Waiau, and proceeding northerly along the Waiau River to its confluence with the River Henry; thence along the left bank of the said River Henry to the western boundary-line of Section No. 16, Square 183, Dillon Survey District; thence along the western, north-western, and north-eastern boundary-lines of Section No. 16 aforesaid, along the western boundary-line of Section No. 14, Square 183, Maling Survey District, along the south-western boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 15 and 9, Square 183, along the western boundary-line of the said Section No. 9, and along the northern and north-eastern boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 9 and 15 aforesaid of Maling Survey District, along the western and northern boundary-lines of Section No. 12, along the northern and north-eastern boundary-lines of Section No. 11, and along the eastern boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 10A and 10, Square 103, Maling Survey District aforesaid, along the north-western, western, north-eastern, and south-western boundary-lines of Run No. 99, and along the western and northern boundary-lines of Run No. 186 to Lake Tennyson; thence southerly along the shore of that lake to Run No. 1, Square 72, Alma Survey District; thence northerly generally along the northern and eastern boundary-lines of Run No. 1 aforesaid, and of Section No. 1, Square 71, to Serpentine
