No allotment shall exceed in area 320 acres.

The annual rent shall be 5 per cent. on the capital value of the land, payable half-yearly, on the 1st day of January or July in every year, and the half-year's rent which must be paid at the time of application shall be in discharge of the half-year's rent due on the first day of January or the first day of July which shall first ensue after the commencement of the term.

All applications for land under these regulations shall be made to the Commissioner of Crown Lands for the district. Where more applications than one are made on the same day for the same land, the right to occupy the land applied for shall, subject to clause 5, be determined by lot amongst the applicants.

Every selector shall within six months of the commencement of his term, and thereafter for a period of six consecutive years, reside on some portion of the land selected by him.

Every selector shall bring into cultivationโ
(a.) Within one year from the date of his lease, not less than one-twentieth of the land selected by him;
(b.) Within two years from the date of his lease, not less than one-tenth of the land selected by him;
(c.) Within four years from the date of his lease, not less than one-fifth of the land selected by him:
And shall within six years from the date of his lease, in addition to the cultivation of one-fifth of the land, have put substantial improvements of a permanent character on the land to the value of ยฃ1 for every acre of such land. -
Selectors shall not sublet their holdings; but they may, with the consent of the Commissioner of Crown Lands, subdivide them, and the tenant of any part so subdivided shall hold from the Crown on the same conditions to the end of the term as the original holder. Selectors may, with the consent of the Commissioner, transfer their holdings, provided that all the conditions of these regulations have been fulfilled to date of application to transfer. No person who has an interest in any land of more than an acre in extent in the colony shall be eligible as a selector under these regulations.

No selector shall hold more than one allotment under these regulations, which shall be held for his sole use and benefit, and not for the use or benefit of any other person whomsoever.

Any selector who shall fail to comply with these regulations in any respect shall, upon sufficient proof thereof to the satisfaction of the Commissioner, forfeit his interest in the land selected.

In case any doubt shall arise as to the construction of these terms and conditions with reference to the selection and occupation or clearing of any land, or otherwise arising thereunder, the same shall be settled by the Commissioner.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this seventeenth day of January, 1887.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE THE MINISTER FOR PUBLIC WORKS PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the lands described in the Schedule hereto were, inter alia, taken from the Auckland Harbour Board by Proclamation dated the fourteenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, for the purposes of a portion of the Kaipara-Waikato Railway:
And whereas the said land is not now required for railway purposes, and it is considered expedient to revest the same in the said Auckland Harbour Board:
Now, therefore, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by "The Special Powers and Contracts Act, 1886," doth hereby grant unto the said Auckland Harbour Board, their successors and assigns, all those the pieces or parcels of land described in the Schedule hereto, together with the appurtenances thereto; to hold the same unto the said Harbour Board in trust for harbour purposes, subject, however, to the rights conferred upon the Governor by virtue of sections one hundred and forty-two to one hundred and forty-six, both inclusive, of "The Harbours Act, 1873."
SCHEDULE.
All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 3 roods 16 perches. Bounded North-easterly by a road-line, 200 links; South-easterly by a road-line, 424 links; South-westerly by railway land, 200 links; North-westerly by a line, 424 links: the same being coloured red, and marked A upon the plan referred to below.
Also all that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods. Bounded North-easterly by railway land, 545 links; South-easterly by a road-line, 435 and 63 links respectively; South-westerly by railway land in lines, 340 and 295 links respectively; North-westerly by a line, 67 links: the same being coloured red, and marked B upon the plan referred to below:
Be all the aforesaid linkages and areas either more or less; the several parcels of land being situate in Mechanics' Bay, City of Auckland, being portion of the land taken by Proclamation dated the 14th August, 1884, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 96, of the 21st August, 1884; and are more particularly delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 14099, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this seventeenth day of January, 1887.

THE HONOURABLE THE MINISTER FOR PUBLIC WORKS PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto was reserved for the improvement and protection of river banks: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said land in the Geraldine Road Board:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the said reserve shall become vested in the Road Board of the Geraldine District, in trust, for the improvement and protection of river banks.
SCHEDULE.
All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 22 acres, more or less, being Section No. 2717 (in red), situate in the Geraldine Survey District. Bounded towards the North-east by a road-line, 2750 links; towards the North-west by the Orari River; and towards the South-east by Lot No. 56 (subdivision of Reserve No. 1650), 1250 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Survey Office, Christchurch.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council issued on the thirtieth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty, under the authority of the twenty-first section of "The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879," fixing the terms and conditions upon which certain village-settlement lands therein enumerated should be disposed of, it was provided that no person would be allowed to acquire more than one allotment in the Fairlie Creek Village Settlement:
And whereas it is expedient to allow one person to hold not more than four acres:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
