THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

and Deaths Act, 1875," I, William Francis Drummond
Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby abolish the existing registration district known as
the Auckland District; and do proclaim and declare that
the territory heretofore comprised within the said district is
hereby divided anew into two registration districts, the
names whereof shall be the Auckland and Onehunga Dis-
tricts, and the boundaries whereof shall be as follows:β€”

AUCKLAND DISTRICT.

Bounded towards the North-east generally by the sea, from
the Okura River to the Wairoa River; towards the South-
east by the Wairoa River aforesaid to Hewlin's Line; towards
the South by Hewlin's Line, the Papakura Creek, and the
Pahurehure River; towards the West generally by the
waters of the Manukau Harbour to the Great South Road,
where it crosses the Manukau Harbour near Hamlin's Hill;
towards the South generally by the Great South Road,
Allotments Nos. 1 and 13 of Section No. 12 of the Suburbs of
Auckland, school endowment, and Allotment No. 12 of
Section No. 12 aforesaid; towards the East by said Allot-
ment No. 12, a road, and Allotments Nos. 59 and 40 of Section
No. 10 of the Suburbs of Auckland; again towards the
South by a road, and Allotments Nos. 41 and 56 of Section
No. 10 aforesaid; again towards the East by Allotments
Nos. 56, 55, 54, and 53 of Section No. 10 aforesaid, a road,
and Allotments Nos. 5, 4, and 6 of Section No. 13 of the
Suburbs of Auckland; again towards the South by the
waters of the Manukau Harbour; towards the South-west
by the sea; and towards the North-west by the north-
western boundary of the Taupaki Block and a right line to
and by the Parish of Ararimu and the southern and eastern
boundaries of the Pukeatua Block, the southern boundary
of Dacre's claim to the Okura River, and by that river to the
place of commencement: including Waiheke, Ponui, and
adjacent islands, and also the Little Barrier Island.

ONEHUNGA DISTRICT.

Bounded towards the North by the road forming the
southern boundary of Allotments Nos. 57 and 38 of Section
No. 10 of the Suburbs of Auckland; towards the East by the
road forming the eastern boundary of Allotments Nos. 38,
37, 36, 35, 34, and 33; again towards the North by Allot-
ment No. 22 of Section No. 12 of the Suburbs of Auckland
and the northern boundary of school endowment, by Allot-
ment No. 10A, a road-line, and Allotments Nos. 14 and 15 of
Section No. 12 aforesaid; towards the North-east by the
Great South Road; towards the South generally by the
Manukau Harbour; towards the West by Allotment No. 14
of Section No. 13 of the Suburbs of Auckland, and the road
forming the eastern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 8A, 8, 4,
4A, 5A, and 6 of Section No. 13 aforesaid, and of Allotments
Nos. 85, 84, 83, 82, 81, 80, and 79 of Section No. 10 of the
Suburbs of Auckland.

And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come
into operation on the fifteenth day of February, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.

in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honour-
able Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at Dunedin, this nineteenth day of
January, in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-seven.

A PROCLAMATION.

I
N exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in me by "The Counties Act, 1886," I, William
Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby divide the new County of Whangaroa,
as constituted by the said Act, into three ridings, to be called
the Kaeo Riding, the Totara Riding, and the Whangaroa
Riding, the boundaries whereof respectively shall be co-
terminous with the Kaeo Road District, the Totara Road
District, and the Whangaroa North Road District, as de-
scribed in the New Zealand Gazette number forty-two, of
the eighteenth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-three:

And I do further declare that the number of members of
the County Council to be elected for each of the said ridings
shall be as follows: For the Kaeo Riding, three members;

for the Totara Riding, two members; for the Whangaroa
Riding, two members. And, lastly, I do declare that Monday,
the twenty-first day of February, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-seven, shall be the day upon which the
election of the first Council of the said County of Whangaroa
shall be held.

A PROCLAMATION.

W
HEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto
are required to be taken, under "The Public Works
Act, 1882," and its amendments, for certain works, to wit,
the construction of roads in the Newcastle Road District,
Provincial District of Auckland:

And whereas the Newcastle Road Board has laid before
the Governor the memorials, accompanied by maps, and
also the statutory declarations, required by the said Act and
the amendments thereof:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by
"The Public Works Act, 1882," and of every other power
and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date
of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the
lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken
for the purposes of the construction of the said roads.
