Land temporarily reserved in the Land Districts of Auckland, Hawke’s Bay, Wellington, and Otago.

WHEREAS by the two hundred and twenty-seventh section of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Land Districts of Auckland, Hawke’s Bay, Wellington, and Otago, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND.

All that piece or parcel of land situate in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 64 acres 2 roods 30 perches, more or less, being Section No. 49 of the Parish of Taupiri, Block XII., Rangiriri Survey District. Bounded on the North by a public road, 2310 and 700 links; towards the East by a line 1180 links to Ohinewai Lake, and by Ohinewai Lake aforesaid; towards the South by a line, 790 links; and towards the West by Sections Nos. 39, 40, and 41 of the Parish of Taupiri aforesaid, 4004 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For recreation.

HAWKE’S BAY.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less, being Sections Nos. 25 and 26, Block XI., Tautane Survey District. Bounded on the North by Section No. 44, 200 links; on the East by a public road, 250 links; on the South by a public road, 200 links; and on the West by Section No. 24, 250 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier. For police purposes.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 4 acres, more or less, being Section No. 22, Block II., Woodville Survey District. Bounded on the North by a road, 457 links; on the East by Section No. 21, 1286 links; on the South by a road, 215 links; and on the West by a road, 1590 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier. For a metal reserve.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 12 acres, more or less, being Section No. 21, Block II., Woodville Survey District. Bounded on the North and East by a road, 356·7, 1176·6, 467·7, and 395·3 links; on the South by a road, 2005·7 links; and on the West by Section No. 22, 1286 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier. For primary education.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 50 acres 1 rood, more or less, being Section No. 54, Block V., Weber Survey District. Bounded on the North-east by Sections Nos. 40, 41, 42, 43, and 44 1442 links, and by a public road 778 links; on the South-east by Section No. 55, 3426 links; on the South-west by Crown land, 1665 links; and on the North-west by Section No. 53, 2576 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier. For primary education.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being Section No. 36, Block V., Weber Survey District. Bounded on the North-east by Section No. 35, 495 links; on the South-east by Section No. 7, 1061 links; on the South-west by a public road, 489 links; and on the North-west by Sections Nos. 28, 30, 32, and 34, 1029 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier. All that piece or parcel of land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being Section No. 40, Block V., Weber Survey District. Bounded on the North-east by a public road, 200 links; on the South-east by Section No. 41, 515 links; on the South-west by Section No. 54 127 links, and by Section No. 53 73 links; and on the North-west by Section No. 39, 515 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier. For a site for a mechanics’ institute.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 10 acres and 30 perches, more or less, being Section No. 51, Block V., Weber Survey District. Bounded on the North-east by a public road, 976 links; on the South-east by Section No. 52, 1252 links; on the South-west by Section No. 50, 910 links; and on the North-west by Section No. 49, 960 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier. For recreation.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 9 acres 3 roods, more or less, being Section No. 52, Block V., Weber Survey District. Bounded on the North-east by a public road, 817 links; on the South-east by Section No. 53, 1263 links; on the South-west by Section No. 50, 800 links; and on the North-west by Section No. 51, 1252 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier. For primary education.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres 1 rood 8 perches, more or less, being Section No. 56, Block V., Weber Survey District. Bounded on the North by a public road reserve, 867 links; on the East by a public road, 202 links; on the South by Section No. 8, 1243 links; and on the West by a public road, 890 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier. For a cemetery.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being Section No. 22, Block V., Weber Survey District. Bounded on the North-east by Section No. 20, 404 links; on the South-east by Sections Nos. 26, 27, 29, 31, and 33, 1287 links; on the South-west by a public road, 416 links; and on the North-west by Section No. 21, 1188 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier. For a site for a police station.

WELLINGTON.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 79 acres, more or less, being Section No. 12, Block IV., Mangahao Survey District. Bounded on the North by Native land, 2130 links; on the East by Section No. 13, 3531 links; on the South-west by a public road, 4877 links; on the West by Native land, 1486 links; and on the North-west by a public road, 502 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. For primary education.

OTAGO.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 4 acres 2 roods 19 perches, more or less, situate in the Township of Bastings, being Section No. 1, Block IV., on the map of said township. Bounded towards the North-west by Horace Street, 895·9 and 541 links; towards the East by Section No. 17, Block XV., Crookston District, 678 links; and towards the South-east by a street-line, 1025 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Dunedin. For a cemetery.

Validating Proceedings at First Meeting of North of Auckland Hospital and Charitable Aid Board.

WHEREAS by regulation under the hand of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand dated the fourth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, it was provided that one of the members representing the Bay of Islands County Council on the North of Auckland Hospital and Charitable Aid Board should preside at the first meeting of the said Board: And whereas no member representing the said County Council was present at the first meeting of the said Board, and thereupon Mr. Robert Thompson, one of the members representing the Whangarei County Council at the said meeting, was appointed Chairman at such meeting: And whereas it is expedient to validate the appointment of the said Chairman and the proceedings at the said meeting subsequent thereto:
