Volunteer Corps disbanded.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to disband the

Devonport Naval Artillery Volunteers.

The under-mentioned gentlemen therefore cease to be officers in the Volunteer Force, their commissions having lapsed under the provisions of "The Defence Act, 1886:"—

New Electoral Rolls formed under "The Representation Act, 1887."

WHEREAS by the 9th section of "The Representation Act, 1887," it is provided that, upon the new electoral rolls being formed in manner provided by the said Act, every Registrar appointed under "The Registration of Electors Act, 1879," shall give notice thereof to the Colonial Secretary, who shall publish the fact in the Gazette:

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Richmond Town Board, County of Waimea.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Richmond Town Board, is published in accordance with "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886."

Proposal to raise a Special Loan of £2,500 under "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886," for the Purpose of providing a Water-supply for the Township.

I HEREBY give notice that, at the poll taken on Tuesday, the 5th July, the votes recorded were as follows:—

For the proposal, 225; against the proposal, 36. Total number of votes exercisable, 400.

Number of ratepayers who voted, 60; number of ratepayers on the roll, 102.

As the number of votes in favour of the proposal exceed one-half of the total votes, and as the number of ratepayers recording their votes exceed one-half of the ratepayers on the roll, I hereby declare the proposal duly carried.
