Native Land proposed to be taken at Sentry Hill for the
Purposes of the Foxton-New Plymouth Railway.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this eleventh
day of May, 1887.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is required to be taken for a public work authorized
to be constructed by the Government, to wit, the Foxton-
New Plymouth Railway: And whereas the said land is held
or occupied by Native owners:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers
vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and the
amendments thereof, and of all other powers in anywise
enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that
the Government work known as the Foxton-New Plymouth
Railway shall and may be constructed on or through the
parcels of land more particularly mentioned in the Schedule
hereto.

SCHEDULE.

THE several parcels of land mentioned in list hereunder:—

All in the Provincial District of Taranaki; as the same are
more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D.
14707, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public
Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wel-
lington, and thereon coloured green and red.

Cancelling Reservation of Land in Taranaki.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by “The Special Powers and Con-
tracts Act, 1884,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
cancel the reservation of Section thirty-six, Block six,
Huiroa Survey District, which was proclaimed an endow-
ment for primary education by Proclamation dated the
eighteenth day of September, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-eight, and published in Gazette number eighty-
nine, of the nineteenth day of September, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-eight, and by Proclamation dated the
first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
four, and published in Gazette number forty-six, of the tenth
day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this fifteenth day of June, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-seven.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by “The Special Powers and Con-
tracts Act, 1884,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
vest in the Taranaki County Council Lot one hundred and
twenty-six, Hua and Waiwakaiho District, containing sixty
acres, subject to the conditions of reservation mentioned in
“The Taranaki County Reserves Act, 1877.”

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-eighth day of June, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-seven.

Altering Times of Meeting of the Land Board of the Land
District of Auckland.

WHEREAS by the first subsection of section forty-three
of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is provided that the
Land Boards of the respective land districts shall sit at the
land office in the principal town of the land district, at
certain times to be determined by the Board and approved
of by the Governor, and published in the New Zealand
Gazette:

And whereas by a warrant under the hand of His Excel-
lency the Governor, dated the twenty-third day of May, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight, and published in
the New Zealand Gazette of the thirtieth day of May, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight, it was appointed
that the Land Board of Auckland should sit on every alternate
Thursday at two o’clock p.m.:

And whereas the Land Board of Auckland did, on the
second day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
seven, pass a resolution recommending that the time of
sitting should be altered, and it is expedient to give effect to
the said recommendation:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of
the power and authority vested in me in that behalf, do
hereby fix and determine that the ordinary meetings of the
Land Board of the Land District of Auckland shall be held
every three weeks, at two o’clock p.m., commencing on
Thursday, the thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-seven, instead of every alternate Thurs-
day as heretofore appointed.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this eighteenth day of June, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-seven.

one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, and published
in the New Zealand Gazette of the fourth day of March, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, it was appointed
that the Land Board of Southland should sit on every
alternate Thursday at half-past one o’clock p.m.:

And whereas the Land Board of Southland did, on the
second day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
seven, pass a resolution recommending that the time of
sitting should be altered, and it is expedient to give effect to
the said recommendation:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of
the power and authority vested in me in that behalf, do
hereby fix and determine that the ordinary meetings of the
Land Board of the Land District of Southland shall be held
on the first Thursday of every month, at eleven o’clock a.m.,
commencing on Thursday, the seventh day of July, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, instead of every
alternate Thursday, as heretofore appointed.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-eighth day of June, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-seven.
