Delegating Powers under “The Cemeteries Act, 1885,” to the Corporation of the Borough of Greytown.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of June, 1887.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers vested in him by “The Cemeteries Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1885,” and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby delegate to the Corporation of the Borough of Greytown the powers conferred upon him by section six of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” as to the appointment and removal of Trustees for the cemetery described in the Schedule hereto, and known as the Greytown Cemetery; and doth declare that this Order in Council shall take effect as from the first day of August next.

SCHEDULE.

GREYTOWN CEMETERY.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 15 acres, more or less, being part of Section No. 38 on the plan of the Moroa Block. Bounded towards the North-east by Section No. 50, 750 links; towards the South-east by other part of Section No. 38, and the abutments of two public roads, each 50 links wide, 2000 links; and towards the South-west and North-west by Section No. 50, 750 links and 2000 links respectively: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington.

Vesting a Reserve in the Contributors to the Gisborne Hospital (Incorporated).

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of June, 1887.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto was reserved for hospital purposes: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said lands in the contributors of the Gisborne Hospital, incorporated under “The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1885:”

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the land described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the contributors of the Gisborne Hospital (Incorporated), in trust, for general hospital purposes.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land situate in the Town of Gisborne, in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, and being Section No. 34A of the Town of Gisborne; commencing at a point on Carnarvon Street, being the south-western corner of Section No. 353. Bounded towards the North-east by Sections Nos. 353, 354, 355, 356, and 357, 500 links; towards the South-east by Section No. 26A, 200 links; towards the South-west by Section No. 33A, 500 links; and towards the North-west by Carnarvon Street, 200 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Appointing Trustees, to be called “The Moeraki Sea-bathing Trust.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of June, 1887.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS it is provided by section twenty-seven of “The Harbours Act 1878 Amendment Act, 1886” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), that, for the purpose of giving effect to the foregoing section of the said Act, the Governor in Council may appoint three persons to be Trustees, to be called “The Moeraki Sea-bathing Trust:”

And whereas it is provided by section thirty of the said Act that sections twenty-six, twenty-seven, twenty-eight, and twenty-nine thereof shall not come into operation except upon a petition signed by a majority of the ratepayers in the Moeraki Riding of the Waitaki County, and of the ratepayers of the Borough of Hampden:

And whereas a majority of the ratepayers of the said riding and borough respectively have signed a petition praying that the said sections twenty-six, twenty-seven, twenty-eight, and twenty-nine may come into operation:

And whereas it is desirable to appoint the persons hereinafter named to be such Trustees as aforesaid:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby appoint Joseph Culling, of Hillgrove, Settler, Robert Ewing, of Hampden, Banker, and Andrew McKerrow, of Moeraki, Settler, to be Trustees, to be called “The Moeraki Sea-bathing Trust.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth day of June, 1887.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a public work authorized to be constructed by the Government, to wit, the Opaki Section of the Wellington-Napier Railway: And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native owners:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and the amendments thereof, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the Government work known as the Opaki Section of the Wellington-Napier Railway shall and may be constructed on or through the parcel of land more particularly mentioned in the Schedule hereto.
