ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of April, 1887.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a public work authorized to be constructed by the Government, to wit, the construction of works for the purposes of defence at Taiaroa Heads, Otago: And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native owners:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and the amendments thereof, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the Government work known as the construction of works for the purposes of defence at Taiaroa Heads, Otago, shall and may be constructed on or through the parcel of land more particularly mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

Notification that Her Majesty has relinquished Negotiations for the Acquisition of the Rahui Block, Otaki District.

IN pursuance of the provisions of “The Government Native Land Purchases Act, 1877,” and “The Government Native Land Purchases Act Amendment Act, 1878,” it is hereby notified that Her Majesty the Queen has relinquished negotiations in respect of the block of Native land in the North Island which is more particularly described and mentioned in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
TE RAHUI.
ALL that parcel of land in the District of Otaki, in the Provincial District of Wellington, known by the name of Te Rahui, containing by admeasurement 60 acres 2 roods or thereabouts. Bounded on the North and West by Native land; on the South by the Otaki River; and on the East by the Waihoanga Nos. 4, 1B, 1A, 2A, 3A, and 3B Blocks.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-fifth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.

Vesting a Reserve in the Town of Woodville.

WHEREAS by section seventeen of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is provided that the reserves to be made for any borough or town district under such section shall be made only in cases where no such reserves for the purpose of sections three, five, and six of “The Plans of Towns Regulation Act, 1875,” exist therein, or, if existing, do not equal or exceed the amount of reserves authorized to be made under such last-mentioned Act:
And whereas the existing reserves for the Town of Woodville do not equal the amount of reserves authorized to be made under “The Plans of Towns Regulation Act, 1875,” and it appears expedient to make the reserve hereinafter mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the seventeenth section of “The Land Act, 1885,” and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby declare that the land enumerated in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby reserved for the purpose stated opposite to the description of such land in the second column hereto, for the benefit of the Town of Woodville, as constituted under the provisions of “The Town Districts Act, 1881,” on the twentieth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

WHEREAS by the two hundred and twenty-seventh section of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Land Districts of Auckland, Taranaki, Hawke’s Bay, Wellington, Marlborough, and Canterbury, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified.

AUCKLAND.
ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 23 acres 2 roods 30 perches, more or less, and being called or known as Section No. 80 of the Parish of Tuakau, Onewhero Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland. Bounded towards the North-west by a road-line, 1013 and 1640 links respectively; towards the North-east by a road-line, 186 links; towards the South-east by Section No. 24, 3416 links; towards the South-west by a road reserve, 790 links; again towards the North-west by Allotment No. 21 of the Suburbs of Tuakau, 850 links; again towards the South-west by the aforesaid Allotment No. 21, 722 links, to the place of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a cemetery site.
TARANAKI.
All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Taranaki, containing by admeasurement 2 acres 1 rood, more or less, being Block XI. of the Town of Opunake. Bounded towards the North-east by Park Place, 833 links; towards the South-east by Parris Street, 200 links; towards the South-west by Carrington Street, 757 links; towards the North-west by McLean Terrace, 400 links.
