The Kaukatea Riding to be represented by one member, with boundaries as follows: Bounded towards the North by the Mangawhero Riding; on the North-west by the Mateongaonga Riding; on the West by the Mateongaonga Riding; on the South and South-east by the Purua Riding to the point on the Wangaehu River at the north-east corner of the said Purua Riding; thence by a line running up the Wangaehu River to the boundary of the Mangawhero Riding.

The Purua Riding to be represented by two members, with boundaries as follows: Commencing at a point on the left bank of the Wanganui River at its intersection with the southern boundary of the original No. 2 Line; thence northerly along the Wanganui River to the south-west corner of Section 60; thence easterly by the southern boundary of Section 60 to its south-eastern corner; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of said Section 60 to its north-eastern corner; thence easterly along the southern boundaries of Sections 65, 66, 67, 68, 70A, 74, 112, 59A, part of 270, 126A, and again part of 270 to Section 195; thence northerly and easterly along the south-eastern boundary of Sections 270, 315, and 316 to its south-eastern corner; thence northerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 316, 317, 318, 319, and part of 237; thence easterly along the southern boundary of Section 236 to its south-eastern corner; thence northerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 236, 252, and part of 297; thence easterly along the southern boundaries of Sections 298 and 301; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of Section 301 to the dividing line between Sections 312 and 217, the common boundary between Messrs. Reid and Sarjeant; thence generally east along the said common boundary to the Wangaehu River; thence southerly down the river to the Kaitoke Riding; thence bounded to the South by the said Kaitoke Riding to the commencing-point.

The Mateongaonga Riding to be represented by one member, with boundaries as follows: Commencing at a point on the left bank of the Wanganui River at the south-west corner of Section 60; thence along the southern boundary of said Section 60 to its south-eastern corner; thence in a straight line to the north-eastern corner of said Section 60 to that point where it joins the south-western corner of Section 65; thence bounded towards the East by said Section 65; thence bounded towards the South by the northern boundary-line of Sections 65, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73, and 111; thence towards the East and South by Sections 272, 206, 205, 369, 368, 370, 371, and 333 to the point where the western boundary of said Section 333 intersects the boundary of the Mangawhero Riding; thence by the southern boundary of the Mangawhero Riding to the Wanganui River; thence generally southerly by the Wanganui River to the commencing-point.

The Kaitoke Riding to be represented by one member, with boundaries as follows: Commencing at a point on the left bank of the Wanganui River at its intersection with the southern boundary of the original No. 2 Line; thence easterly along the southern boundary of the said No. 2 Line of road to the north-western corner of Section 29; thence southerly along the western and south-western boundary of said Section 29 to its intersection with the Iwiroa Block; thence south-westerly along the boundary of the Iwiroa Block to the north-eastern corner of the Maniawhatiari Block; thence southerly along the dividing line between Maniawhatiari and the Iwiroa to the northern boundary of Ngatarua No. 7; thence along the dividing line between Ngatarua No. 7 and the boundary of the Kohipo Block; thence north-easterly along the boundary between the Kohipo and Te Iwiroa to the Maniawhakawara No. 2; thence generally easterly by the southern boundary of the said Maniawhakawara No. 2; thence southerly along the western boundary of Maniawhakawara No. 1 and Pariatumonga No. 1 to its south-western corner; thence north-easterly along the southern boundary of Pariatumonga No. 1 to the extreme eastern boundary of the Putiki Reserve; thence by a right line to the south-western corner of Section 33; thence easterly to the south-east corner of Section 33; thence northerly along a portion of the eastern boundary of said Section 33 to the south-western corner of Section 34; thence easterly along the southern boundary of Sections 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, and portion of 136; thence southerly along the western boundary of Section 137 to the south-western corner of said section; thence easterly along the southern boundary of said Section 137 to the north-western corner of Section 153; thence southerly to the south-western corner of said Section 153; thence easterly to the south-east corner of said section; thence northerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 153 and 154 to the south-eastern corner of Section 134; thence easterly along the southern boundaries of Sections 135, 177, 179, 180, 189, 190, and that part of Section 249 occupied by Mr. Patrick Burr; thence southerly along the centre of the Warregate Line to a point opposite the north-west corner of that portion of Section 248 occupied by Mr. H. N. Harrison; thence easterly along his northern boun-

dary to the Wangaehu River; thence southerly down the middle of the Wangaehu River to Cook Strait; thence westerly along the sea-shore of Cook Strait to the mouth of the Wanganui River: thence easterly and northerly up the Wanganui River to the commencing-point.

The above special order will take effect from date of gazetting, in terms of section 125, “Counties Act, 1886.”

I hereby certify, in terms of section 125, “Counties Act, 1886,” that the foregoing is a true copy of the special order made by the Wanganui County Council on the 29th March, 1887, and subsequently confirmed at a special meeting of the Council held on the 3rd May.

Special Order made by Halswell Road Board, County of Selwyn.

THE following special order, made by the Halswell Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER.

THAT a special order be made that a special rate of three farthings in the pound be made and levied on that portion of the Halswell Road District comprised within the following boundaries, viz., commencing on the Halswell Junction Road at the northern corner of Rural Section 552; thence south-westerly along the north-west boundary of said section to the River Halswell; thence southerly along the eastern bank of the River Halswell to its junction with the Prebbleton Junction Road; thence southerly and easterly along the eastern side of Burrows Road to the southern corner of Rural Section 2573; thence northerly and easterly along the south-east boundary of Rural Section 2573 to the Prebbleton Junction Road; thence southerly and easterly along the northern side of the Prebbleton Junction Road to the southern corner of Rural Section 1169; thence easterly and northerly 20 chains along the eastern boundary of Rural Section 1169; thence westerly at a right angle to the western boundary of Rural Section 785; thence northerly and easterly along the western boundary of Rural Section 785 to the Halswell Junction Road; thence northerly and westerly along the south-west side of the Halswell Junction Road to the starting-point: for the purpose of defraying the part cost of construction of a new drain and improving existing drains in the Halswell Road District, such part cost being estimated to amount to £77, and such special rate being estimated to amount to £77.

SPECIAL ORDER.

THAT the Town of Raglan Highway Board propose, by special order, as per “Road Boards Act, 1882,” section 75, to levy a special rate of three farthings in the pound upon all rateable property in the district, exclusive of Government and Native land, as security for the repayment of proposed loan, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” of £350, and interest thereon; also to apply all tolls from said wharf to same purpose.

I hereby certify that the above order has been duly passed, as required by section 76 of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”
