All that area, 25 links in width, situate in the Rolleston, Christchurch, and Halswell Survey Districts, County of Selwyn, commencing at the north-western side of Bealey’s Road, at the south-western corner of Section No. 11582, Rolleston Survey District, and proceeding south-easterly across the said Bealey’s Road and along the north-eastern side of Dawson’s and Waimakariri Road to the Great South Road; and thence across the latter road and along the north-eastern side of Harewood and Hampton Road to Springs Road.

All that area, 25 links in width, situate in the Rolleston and Christchurch Survey Districts, County of Selwyn, commencing at the north side of Bealey’s Road, at the south-eastern corner of Section No. 10917, Rolleston Survey District, and proceeding south-easterly across the said Bealey’s Road and along the north-eastern side of Prebbleton and Waimakariri Road to Springs Road.

All that area, 25 links in width, situate in the Christchurch Survey District, County of Selwyn, commencing at the eastern side of Prebbleton and Waimakariri Road, at the northernmost corner of Section No. 3125, and proceeding south-easterly along the south-western side of Waterholes and Prebbleton Road to Springs Road.

All that area, 25 links in width, situate in the Rolleston and Christchurch Survey Districts, County of Selwyn, commencing at the northern side of Bealey’s Road, at the southern corner of Section No. 4733, Rolleston Survey District, and proceeding south-easterly across that road to the north-western corner of Section No. 2919 of the said Rolleston Survey District; thence along the eastern side of the road which runs through Reserves Nos. 702 and 2351 to the northern corner of Section No. 4069, Christchurch Survey District; thence along the eastern side of Halswell and Waimakariri Road to the westernmost corner of Section No. 2773 of the said Christchurch Survey District; thence across the said road and southerly along its western side to the Great South Road; thence across that road and along the eastern side of the said Halswell and Waimakariri Road to Springs Road.

All that area, 25 links in width, situate in the Rolleston and Christchurch Survey Districts, County of Selwyn, commencing at the north-western corner of Reserve No. 2531, Rolleston Survey District, and proceeding in a south-easterly direction, intersecting the said Reserve No. 2531 and Reserve No. 702, to the northernmost corner of Section No. 8005, Christchurch Survey District; thence along the north-eastern boundary-line of the said Section No. 8005, through the said Reserve No. 702, to a road; thence south-westerly along the western side of the said road for a distance of 9½ chains; thence again south-easterly across the said road, and intersecting Reserve No. 2418 (Templeton Public Domain), to and across a road, and intersecting Sections Nos. 9199 and 4382 of the said Christchurch Survey District, to and across a road and railway reserve, and intersecting Reserve No. 331, to the south-western corner of Section No. 4029; thence north-easterly along the northern side of a road to a point opposite the north-western corner of Section No. 1791; thence southerly across the last-mentioned road, and intersecting the said Section No. 1701, Section No. 1768, and again intersecting Section No. 1791 aforesaid, to the Great South Road; and thence easterly along the northern side of the said Great South Road to Springs Road.
Branch Race No. 6.
All that area, 25 links in width, situate in the Christchurch Survey District, County of Selwyn, commencing at the northern side of Bealey’s Road, at the southernmost corner of Reserve No. 822, and proceeding south-easterly across the said road and along the northern side of Buchanan’s Road to Sockburn Platform.
Branch Race No. 7.
All that area, 25 links in width, situate in the Rolleston and Christchurch Survey Districts, County of Selwyn, commencing at the northern side of Bealey’s Road, at the south-western corner of Section No. 11582, Rolleston Survey District, and proceeding generally easterly along the northern side of the said road to and thence across the Lower Waimakariri Road, and along the northern side of the latter road to and thence across a road, and along the northern side of Harewood Road by Riccarton to its junction with the Prebbleton and Kaiapoi Junction Road; and thence northerly along the western boundary of the last-mentioned road to the north-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 1156, Christchurch Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled “The Defence Act, 1886,” power is given to the Governor from time to time to make, alter, and revoke regulations respecting the enrolment, promotion, discipline, training, exercise, arms, accoutrements, clothing, equipment, conveyance, pay, rations, and lodging of the forces or any portion thereof, and respecting the several other matters specified in the said Act, and providing generally for the more effectual carrying out of the said Act:
And whereas by Proclamation dated the fifteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, certain regulations were made under the said Act for the purposes aforesaid: And whereas it is expedient now to amend the regulations so made:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the said recited power and authority, do, by this present order, revoke rules fifty-seven and fifty-eight of the aforesaid regulations, and do hereby declare that in lieu thereof the following rules shall come into force from the date of the publication hereof.
SCHEDULE.
If a medical officer shall have served and be serving as an Honorary Surgeon in a Volunteer company, he will be entitled to be entered on the general list as a Surgeon, and if he has served in any enrolled Militia called out for training and exercise, or with any of the New Zealand Forces, he may add the period of such service towards his promotion; and if on actual service with the Volunteers, Militia, or any of the New Zealand Forces, may count two years for each one of such service.
Medical officers who have served as above for more than twenty years as Surgeons, Honorary Surgeons, or Assistant-Surgeons in the Defence Forces, will, on completing such period of service, be entitled to be appointed Brigade Surgeons; and a medical officer who may have served as above for more than twelve years will be entitled to be appointed Surgeon-Major. In both cases such officers will be entitled to count extra service as provided for by preceding paragraph.
