The only charge for the lease will be a fee of 10s. No selector shall take up more than one allotment. Plans may be seen at the Land Offices, Christchurch and Timaru, where also copies of the village homestead special-settlement regulations may be obtained.

Crown Lands, Provincial District of Canterbury, to be leased on the Perpetual-leasing System, under Section 161 of “The Land Act, 1885.”

Crown Lands Office,
Christchurch, 28th March, 1887.

IT is hereby notified that the under-mentioned Crown lands are open for lease, for a term of thirty years, with the right of renewal for further terms of twenty-one years, and that applications will be received on Saturday, the 30th April, for the said lease, at the Land Office, Christchurch; and also by Mr. March, at the Railway Station, Hinds, on the 28th April; and at the Courthouse, Ashburton, on the 29th April. The applications received by Mr. March will bear the same date as those received at the Land Office, Christchurch:—

Plan may be seen and particulars obtained at the Land Office, Christchurch. Every application must be accompanied by a statutory declaration, the amount of the first six months’ rent, and a fee of 30s. Should there be more than one application on the same day for the above reserve the right to occupy shall be determined by lot.

DISTRICT OF GISBORNE.

IN the matter of a decision of the Court given during a session opened at Hastings, in the said district, on the 23rd day of October, 1885, upon the hearing of a claim for investigation of title to land situate in the said district, and known as Porangahau; and in the matter of the application of Te Teira Tiakitai and others, made to this Court, in writing, within three months after such decision was given, for a rehearing upon the aforesaid claim:

I, John Edwin Macdonald, Chief Judge of the said Court, and in exercise of the authority in that behalf vested in me, do hereby order that a rehearing upon such claim be had on Tuesday, the 10th day of May, 1887, at a sitting of the Court to be then holden at Taradale, in the district aforesaid.

IN the matter of a decision of the Court given during a session opened at Otaki, in the said district, on the 22nd day of May, 1885, upon the hearing of a claim for the investigation of title to land situate in the said district, and known as Piritaha No. 4; and in the matter of the application of Rihi Ruta te Manga, made to this Court, in writing, within three months after such decision was given, for a rehearing upon the aforesaid claim:

I, John Edwin Macdonald, Chief Judge of the said Court, in exercise of the authority in that behalf vested in me, do hereby order that a rehearing upon such claim, to the extent of ascertaining whether the applicant has any, and, if so, what, interest therein, be had on the 4th day of May, 1887, at a sitting of the Court to be then holden at Otaki, in the district aforesaid.

I, John Edwin Macdonald, Chief Judge of the said Court, in exercise of the authority in that behalf vested in me, do hereby order that a rehearing upon such claim be had on Wednesday, the 4th day of May, 1887, at a sitting of the Court to be then holden at Otaki, in the district aforesaid.
